Perhaps it was his compassion that allowed him to sacrifice himself for our sins?

I find the way some of these threads go completely off tangent and people get offended quite amusing and even sometimes entertaining.

Im sure thats another thread about drinking too much

Not tonight. Weve been invited to a 'game night' by a canadian friend on saturday night. I was looking forward to some pigeon stew or something then realised it was board games for about 12 of us. Ill likely have had a few before i turn up and play "battle of the sexes" - never played it but sounds like it could end up in arguments and falling out with the better half!

Im hoping it doesnt involve throwing the keys in the middle

Yes, but Good Friday is not a holiday in France. Novo, how much on average are you paying for a leg of lamb in France? You sound like you are having a super time

Hi Millie, I was a bit surprised that everything is open today, but apparently Monday is the holiday here. I've just looked in the fridge and the leg of lamb weighing 2.5 Kg cost 15.70 euro (at Intermarche´, promo).

By comparison £5.49 per kg (£13.72 for the leg) on promo at Sainsburys, though not certain if that contains infusion de cheval.

Millie asked. I wasn't claiming it was cheap. I don't do cheap.

And the horse was good this evening. We did it in a style du cuisine mondiale with garam marsala, cumin and tandoori paste all from Intermarche and mango chutney from same.

Vive la France.

Novo, thanks so much for that...my husband always messes up prices, and always says that we got a better deal wherever we were living before! He forgets!
Yes, I was always surprised that my son went to, his Catholic, school on Good Friday, though they did march off to church. It seems odd when the shops close for All Saint's Day, but not Good Friday

Ah, but you aren't supposed to enjoy yourself on Good Friday. Especially at 3pm.

Can't be long now.[/

The French are in a pickle because they closed down their white flag factories a few years ago.

Every Easter the Easter Beagle comes dancing along with his basket of eggs to give to all the happy children. In the rustic Canadian village of my youth, the last day of school was celebrated with games, an outing to a nearby lake, (or sometimes to Batoche) for a picnic, and the Catholic kids had to bring a note from their parents saying it was ok for them to eat the hot dogs.
