2016/12/18 17:04 CHILLIWACK, BC Item available for pickup at Post Office

Despite the tracking saying it's available for pick up, and the scan showing it available on the 18th, and today being the 19th, you would think it would be available, but apparently not.

PostLady just delivered the parcel which, according to CP tracking, is (still) in Winnipeg.

Mine apparently has got as near as Stoney Creek - waiting with bated breath.

Glad you got your one!

Thanks :). I shall bate my breath in solidarity with you & your parcel ;)

PostLady rolled her eyes when I mentioned that the tracking system said parcel had gone to Manitoba. She said (paraphrasing): "don't trust the tracking system"...

There is no guarantee that you will get an item even if you have a card saying that it's available for pickup at the post office. Even at the small postal outlet in the town where I used to live, trying to get a package that was supposed to be there required some persistence. On one occasion after two failed attempts, I said I would just wait in line while they searched the entire pile of parcels or I would do it myself. Miraculously, they found it almost at once. I wonder if Canada Post employees are deliberately incompetent.

I believe JonboyE addressed that idea rather well. ;)

Mine was in Mississauga for a week, then Winnipeg for almost a week, lol. I'm not getting my hopes up too high!

:)

Edited to add - it's now saying "in transit to it's final processing location".

If you live in Newfoundland and buy stuff online, you eventually learn to wonder at the place that is called "Dieppe NB". This mythical place must be like the Bermuda triangle or perhaps a black hole. All things must pass through Dieppe NB. Some will merely pause there and in a blink be in St John's or that other strange place "Out for Delivery". Others will dwell there for a while. Some, for an eternity. Dieppe NB. Is the Magnetic Hill actually made up of of millions of Canada Post parcels?

I hear ya!

I'm still waiting for a package that was supposed to be here 6 days ago.

Sent from London, Ont to Vancouver, BC on 7/12. Today it's finally being "processed" in Vancouver. I'm not holding my breath however.

That parcel I ordered last Thursday and arrived yesterday (Monday) passed through Dieppe. ;) It appears the main 'sorting' office (or whatever it's called here) for Moncton is actually in Dieppe.

It's really just a district of Greater Moncton or Metro Moncton so you could blame Moncton

I wonder if the postal activities in Dieppe, NB are simply to remind Canadians about the military mistakes in Dieppe, France?

:sarcasm:

Ben had something shipped from Australia once.
It look longer to get from the Canadian border to Toronto than it did from Oz to Canada

Re: Dear Canada Post, We Need To Talk.

I wonder how long it will take them to drop off a pick up slip?

Item 1 has said available for pick up since Sunday, and that a pick up slip has been left.

Item 2 has been there since the 19th, and they claim a slip was left on same day.

Both show with tracking they are at Shopper's and available.

Shopper's refuses to even look for them, claiming a slip was left and nothing they can do.

Whatever the upgrades Canada Post did to make the holidays smoother, seems to have done nothing, same ole same ole.

Wonder of wonders, my parcel has been left today in our community mail box.

Phew!
