1. device from UK bank to activate for secure banking (sent early August)
2. Pair of shoes I bought off Ebay UK sent registered 8 August but only trackable to when it got to Canada

and

3. Copy of my mother's b/c from Gibraltar (sent around 2 Aug) also registered and only trackable to when it got to Canada.

Nothing has yet arrived in BC. Is this "normal"?

Thank you!

In Calgary, I would probably be getting those in the next couple of days. I generally find things take around 20-25 to arrive from the UK. Once a while, mail will arrive very quickly (recently some mail came from the UK in 2 days).

Thank you CS. This gives me a bit of hope!

I just posted a child's T shirt, 2nd class letter post within the UK at a post office in London. It cost me the princely sum of 76 pence. I can't recall the last time I sent something domestically within Canada but I'm confident it was at least a multiple of 10 times that cost. Just sayin'!

Internet order placed 6/6/17. Shipping date 10/6/17, from Hong Kong.

Query lodged with sender mid-July.

Sender reimbursed me 15/8.

Parcel arrived here yesterday. Neatly opened and resealed by Canadian customs (I assume) with a Canada Post date stamp of 7/7.

I have no idea of where it’s been wandering in the interim...

Most likely sitting in a bin waiting for CBSA to get to it.

CBSA seems to be the common factor in these massively delayed international parcels.

More and more shippers in Asia are refusing to ship to Canada because of this issue with delays which then cost them money in refunds.

That would have been pretty good from Hong Kong, just about a month.

Things like replacement laptop keyboards are well worth ordering from HK, Singapore, China etc if you can wait. Can be as little as $12 and free delivery

Yes. I was quoted ~2 weeks for shipping/arrival date, which - knowing CP delays - I didn’t really believe so allowed ~a month before I inquired.

I do feel a bit bad for the seller: I immediately notified them when the item finally turned up (so they could re-charge me), but they said fugeddaboutit. Apparently it’s very common from the Far East to Canada & they seem to have factored it into their overheads.

It seems to be getting worse.

Parcels from the UK sent on International Tracked & Signed service leave the UK 1-2 days after posting, but take 2 months to be delivered - about 4 or 5 times longer than they should.

I’m getting a lot of ebay refunds, but that isn’t really a benefit!!

ORDER NOW FOR DELIVERY BY CHRISTMAS....2018

Justin Truedonkey really needs to get this sorted out. But then he has stupid priorities like cannabis, apologizing for history and renaming buildings further up his list.

It's a bit awkward when that happens.

I ordered a mouse that was just about $5. It sounded similar to my favoured mouse that retails for an outrageous $40 (yeah, right) but is often reduced to $20.

About two weeks past the outside delivery date, I contacted the seller and they immediately offered a refund.

But I was curious as to what the mouse was really like so I said I'd prefer to take my chances on a replacement (I already had a spare so didn't mind waiting). They favoured the refund but agreed to replace.

About a month on, a mouse arrives and it's obviously the original one.

I was willing to take a chance on the second one not arriving and it's such a small amount I can live with myself if I end up with two.

Parcel posted in Toronto 20/10/17, destination here (Somewhere in Qc).

CP Tracking said it left Mississauga 22/10/17.

CP Tracking says it then went to Calgary 23/10/17.

CP Tracking now says it’s in Winnipeg...

Parcel was received safe & sound here 23/10/17 with regular mail delivery.

At this point, I think Canada Post and its “Tracking” service is just a random #/place name generator...

That's impressive. How on earth did they know where to deliver it? ;)

Maybe Js should have his stuff addressed to "Somewhere in BC"

Re: Dear Canada Post, We Need To Talk.

Had a package delivered on Friday which required a signature. I wasn't home, so they left a notice. "Package will be available for pickup tomorrow after 1:00pm at the following location: [address]" with the hours of the place listed, which included Saturday hours.

Saturday I go to the post office at about 3:30pm. The guy says to me "Try not to be mad... I hate Canada Post when they do this. Canada Post doesn't work on Saturdays, so when they say 'available tomorrow', they mean their next business day, which in this case is Monday. So it will be here after 1pm on Monday. I'm really, really sorry. I hate when they do this as so many people get upset because the form clearly says 'available tomorrow'."

Hard to get mad at him after that, he clearly was equally annoyed... so I'll go after work today. Stupid Canada Post.

Only to find it's not there because they are trying to deliver it again when you're not in. Happened to me in the UK :(

Haha, luckily they only try to deliver once and then drop it at the post office, so I'm just keeping an eye on the online tracking to see when it says it's been dropped off, but regardless I can't get there until about 6ish tonight, so it should be there in plenty of time!!! (It's a new phone, I am super excited! But I am a nerd, so...!)
