Ontario…184cases yesterday. 1% positivity. Yesterday’s numbers were greater because they added some that were missed in 2020. :blink:

After 470 days, the BC State Of Emergency order expires at 11:59pm tonight. :beer::drinkingbeer:

78% of the population age 12+ have had at least 1 dose, with 29% of the population 12+ fully vaccinated.

The vax figures in Ontario for fully vaccinated is approx 32.5%, and 67.1% 1 dose (age12+). Today we went into Stage 2…Stage 3 is 21 days away.

Don't get a cough during a pandemic. :lol:

I have had a dry cough for about a month now, non-productive, otherwise I feel fine, but good luck seeing a doctor, they wont see me because well COVID, but I don't want to fuss with the ER as its not an emergency, but GP's are being overly cautious I guess.

Are you taking any medications?

I have had a dry cough for the last 10 or so years, but it is a side effect of one of the other prescription drugs I have to take.

As long as it doesn't become a big problem, I'll stick with the current situation, because it means changing the medication that causes it, and that can be a big hassle.

But it is something I didn't know about before it all started.

Are you signed up with a doctor in Kelowna??

I've found that my doctor doesn't want to see me unless it is imperative, but they will discuss things in a telephone interview. If necessary, they ask me to make an office appointment, but I could also have the opportunity for a video discussion if we were set up for that.

Same here…phone consults but the doctor will see you if necessary. I thought BC was back to normal now?

There is no provincial order preventing doctors for seeing patients in office , I think some of the doctors just like working from home, my GP is currently only in the office 1 day a week for 4 hours, the rest of the appointments all phone or video, and based on her dog barking, I think she works from home.

I thought it was done because of Covid. I have never had a doctor who works from home only taking phone consults, apart from the last 16 months…even then my doctor said he would see me I wanted a face to face,

It only started with COVID last year, but seems to be sticking around and not going away, but every doctor will do what is best for them I suppose.

I find it quite ridiculous that doctors appear to be afraid to see anyone in office unless they really have to yet there is no problem seeing a physio, chiropractor, massage therapist, acupuncturist and many other personal service companies out there. This is going to turn into a huge problem for the health services in next few years as more and more people are left with serious issues often beyond the normal treatment because they couldn't or wouldn't see a doctor when it was needed.

No, only in Stage 3 of a 4 stage recovery. We won't move to Stage 4 until September.

Things are relaxed though ................ masks don't have to be worn as long as you have had both vaccinations, with the second more than 2 weeks ago. Places can still require you to wear a mask though before you enter, otherwise it is your choice.

I notice most of the people walking past the house still have masks with them though, ready to pull them up over mouth and nose if not there already.

I think lots of people are going to play it safe with masks, I know OH and I will do.

Casinos are allowed to open, with spatial distancing even of the slot machines. Night clubs can open but with spatial distancing and no-one is allowed to dance so many of them are waiting until September. Cinemas are open, with spacing, etc etc

I think my physio will still require his place to run as it has since last July ........... no companion allowed in, face masks mandatory, hand sanitizing mandatory, arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time, etc etc.

My doctor appears to be working on the same procedures as before. Phone discussion first, followed by video conference or in office visit if necessary, and it seems that many doctors may well follow the same principle because they have found that it actually saves them time. They are even sending new prescriptions for medications already in use directly to the pharmacist, which something my doctors had never done before last year, you always had to go in for a face-to-face discussion about a renewal, which I can understand. But now that everything is computerised and doctors and pharmacist are all on the same programme here, then it is easy for them. The doctor can talk to me on the phone with her laptop open to my file, all details available.

I have no objection to that .... I rather like the phone talk first, saves time going over it all again in the office if that is called for, just get right down to business!

I do know that the doctor's office staff were working from home in the early days of covid, and so were some of the doctors .......... but the clinic is on the university campus, and the university was shut down.

After things eased up last June/July, some of the office staff still worked from home, one in particular who is in her 50s and another who has had breast cancer and treatment ..... understandable. It didn't make any difference, they had access to the office computers.

I have no idea whether any of the doctors were still working from home then or now, though some of them seemed to be using their own phones.

As I said, it doesn't worry me, go with the flow!
