Even if other countries around the world don't 100% legalize it, at least copy what the Netherlands has been doing since 1976, i.e.- possession of up to 5 grams for personal use is OK but the rozzers may confiscate your weed

No one wants to go to prison for carrying a few joints on them, it's crazy.

The move by Malta, the EU’s smallest member state, is likely to be followed by reform across Europe in 2022. Germany recently announced a move to establish a legally regulated market, following announcements from the governments of Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

caretaker Looks like all that weed you bought might have paid off

Two cannabis compounds commonly found in hemp were able to bind to the spike protein and prevent the SARS-CoV2 virus from entering cells and causing infection.

I realize this is a Canada-oriented thread, but I think it's the only one on BE that discusses Marijuana worldwide, so I will post this here:

Interesting article on Politico today (a very liberal and pro-legalization publication) about some negative long-term impacts of Marijuana use:

https://www.politico.com/news/2023/0...fects-00081178

Pot is making people sick. Congress is playing catch-up.

I'm in favor of legalization, and have bought a fair amount of legal weed products over the last two years, both for pure recreational purposes, and also as a sleep aid. I'm actually not finding it much use for me (on both recreational and 'sleep' fronts) and have pretty much given up trying. I remain in favor of legalization due to the negative impacts of convictions on society, and for the many medical benefits that have been found, but - I did find that I was incredibly 'sluggish', 'dull', 'sleepy' the next day whenever I indulged (not to mention the 'day of'!), so I'm not surprised that one of the findings include "learning delays in adolescents".

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
