Of course unless its some Johnny foreigner who dares to add their bastardised corruption to our sacred language. They obviously ain't been fetched up right.

Phew! Just as well we're only slagging off the funny way Canadians speak, and not proper 'foreigners'.
'Cos that's offensive you know.

It used to mean "not now, but later." Now it usually means pretty much exactly the opposite.
"I'll be with you presently, I'm presently dealing with another customer."
'course, it could all be a conspiracy to confuse Johnny Foreigner, you know.

or...Hey, he didn't get a permit for his addition...he's been told to' unbuild ' it.....

None of that bothers me as it's just one of the really cool things about english. It can be abused and distorted however you like and it's still understood and is better for it. I used to hear all kinds of dodgy english in Asia; A favourite was "I go come already" for "I have been".
Though obviously there is comedy mileage in laughing at the Canadians and the funny ways they talk. Silly Canadians.

I get a lot of Indian English at work (unsurprisingly given I work for an Indian company). I know I've mentioned it on here before, but my favourite Hinglish word is "prepone" - to bring a meeting forward in the calendar, the opposite of "postpone." It makes perfect grammatical and etymological sense, and really ought to be accepted into general English usage, I think.

It does indeed matter. Now as much as I dont bother spelling things correctly most of the time, I noticed that in the company of americans I tend to make a point to spell "colour" "colour" and not bloody "color"
All a matter of personal preference really, like if you like Canada watered down or not, do you like the Queens English watered down.. or if you want fries with that. Myself I prefer Poutine.
Oh.. and if you think healthcare is all thats different between Canadians and Americans you don't know your history, you dont understand the country at all, and you will never be happy here so you may as well go back wherever you started. I know that I wouldn't go to the UK harbouring the same impression about Scots and say .. the Welsh, or that countrys in the Common union are "all the same" If I were really that daft I'd of stayed home. Maybe I'd finnish a "Colouring book" in order to increase my IQ.
