Really? I thought they all looked like blokes so pretty even in munterishness.

An interesting alternative medal table published (not surprisingly by the Grauniad) based on either GDP, population or team size....Grenada seem to be the team to beat !!

Typical Guardian.... they can't bring themselves to call the team "Great Britain & Northern Ireland", as entered..... it's the "UK" in their tables.....

I think women's football has come on a lot and largely due to the physique of the players these days.
I saw women playing a few years ago and thought they looked silly. None of them seemed to be able to run properly, never mind kick a ball!

They just looked like a bunch of girls.... Oh.... Well, I still think they put on a much better show these days, for being tall, solidly-built and fairly androgynous, even if it does give the guys less of a thrill to ogle them! :p

I can only assume that the USA were the home team. In that case, and as it was at Old Trafford, dodgy homer decisions and Fergie time are only to be expected.

What were the Canadian showjumpers crying "cheat" over? That's not very Olympian spirited.

Did anyone stay tuned to here Brian Williams from CTV explain Missy Franklin's 'Canadian Connection'?

I was done after that. What now.... her grannys sisters puppy was from Brandon Manitoba?

The Canadian perspective is really starting to bug now.

I have to say the reaction to the dying-seconds loss.of the women's football team isn't particularly edifying.

Likewise, I've seen lots of coverage of the 'tragedy' of Wingfield, the Canadian triathlete who fell off his bike, but not even a mention of the poor guy that he knocked off.

It occurs to me that Canadians don't like sport as much as they like winning.

Listening to the Canadian commentary of the triathlon was hilarious. "20 degrees is as nice as it gets for a summer day in London." or the "the famed British bureaucracy." All they did throughout the race was moan and whinge about two British athlete's while bigging it up for the Canadian ones who were really crap. It was a bit pathetic but also very funny. :D

I've not seen any of that because I've been watching it on the bbc. It almost sounds like I'm missing out.

i've been alternating

its a welcome change over here as the Canadian commentators aren't wankers like Jonathon Pearce and Mark Lawerenson!

I think the CTV coverage is dire. Thank God it will be back on the CBC next time.

I watched some of the boxing between the british and canadian fellas.

Commenting, very animatedly, on the Canadian boxer:
"Look at him go, such skills, the way he hurts the Brits fists with his face is extraordinary. Surely he won that round considering how many punches he blocked with his chin"

They were furious when he lost

I watched that one. I thought they were pretty funny when they said how biased the judging was towards the British boxers.
Its easy, if the Canadians want to win medals they should stop being crap.
