Yes, apparently many of the busier roads within Calgary the buses are not permitted to use their red alternating lights. It's considered more hazardous to stop all the traffic on large busy roads - does this therefore mean though that the kids have to get off the bus and then dodge the traffic to get across? The red lights, when activated, automatically shut off when the door is shut. Another bit of useless information - the strobe light - the bright white flashing light on the roof of the bus is only permitted to be used outside of town and city limits.

In Alberta some municipalities have bylaws that do not require school buses to use their alternating flashing lights when stopping. In this case, drivers do not need to stop but should still be cautious and watch for pedestrians when the buses are loading or unloading students.

Please make sure you include those morons from Vancouver whose vehicles slipped on ice and they did everything they could to avoid a collision including hurling themselves under their vehicles and using their bodies as a shield, all to avert an ICBC claim.

Oh and while I remember it please include that numbskull that had his car towed out of a snow dump by attaching a tow rope to the rear boot and not the tow point. The tow quite rightly respected the laws of physics AND common sense and ripped his car in half.

This is all meant to be entertaining while still being educational. Please feel free to comment and subscribe to the channel if you wish.

The nickel proudly displays a beaver *smiles*

Seriously though, the nickel used to be made of pure nickel... which Canada has plenty of... and the dime was made of Silver...they made it smaller I assume because silver was more scarce. Nothing seems to be made of anything worth a damn anymore..even the penny is copper plated something or other.

Now I might add my favorite overall coin is the Churchill Crown, but as you know that's not a Canadian coin... my favorite Canadian coin is actually the mostly ignored 50 cent piece... which is usually round and has the crest of Canada on it .. in 09 tho they did something really cool with it and sent guitarists scrambling for a new fancy pick...

usually looks like this:

I did approximately that. It made a frightful mess of the car. A video on how to bend the bodywork so you can carry on using the car might be valuable to people moving to snowy regions.

Thank you for a your constructive input.

I can only base my every day items on the Toronto area, mostly around were i am working that day or week and were i live. I will cover the snowy season when it returns next winter. Thats if we get any? This year was very mild. As for now, well it's not dropped below 15-20c for a week or so. I do have snow tires myself and but they are no help on thick black ice.

I do spend all day with a few cameras scattered around my van so anything is game for me at the mo....LOL

It's gona be a trip to a Timmies drive thru next week, alway interesting when ordering in Toronto. Reminds me of them lucky bags we used to get in the UK as kids.

I agree. You pay a lot of money for what turns out to be a load of old crap.

I think the point is more that, at Tim Horton's, you can't get a specific thing, you can't choose what you'll get. For example, my order, "a large black coffee, please" will usually result in being handed a drink, probably hot. It won't necessarily be large, coffee or black. I can't be bothered with extended explanations so I take whatever liquid they give me.

People who want something more complicated have less chance of conveying their needs. A truly miserable experience is getting stuck behind someone who cares about tea vs. coffee, black vs. white and wants a dozen doughtnuts of specific types; sorting out each doughtnut entails the fetching of myriad trays of confections to be poked at and sneezed over. An eternity later they start on the double-doubles and whining that there's no/too much/too little sugar in it. ffs, if you care so much what it tastes like, what are you doing in Tim Hortons?

Given that the typical customer has no idea what he or she wants at the moment of reaching the counter, and the staff can't understand what's wanted anyway, it's a wonder the rare person with a simple order and exact cash doesn't kill everyone in the shop. I wouldn't judge such a person guilty.

oh try reversing it.. i know "A large Black coffee" seems simple to you and me but try this....

"Large Coffee... Black"

I've found that giving a request in the order in which they will fill it helps dum it up for them...

large -reaches for large cup
Coffee- fills it with coffee
Black- don't add anything

whereas Large black will end up in ...disaster.

I don't do that as I'm concerned that it will be heard as "large coffee, black" and I'll be considered culturally insensitive. I'll try it though next time there's a chinawoman.

I drive a certain friend of mine crazy with my order...

Earl Grey Tea, no cream, three sugar (must say three to get the equivalent of 2)

they have no clue what earl grey tea is and you'll get regular almost every time.

That could work. On the rare occasions that I go into one of those hellhloles (typically for a mid-trip wazz and feel obliged to buy something), it's:

"medium coffee with nothing else in it".
