That entirely depends on whether, or not, you also own a Harley.

I have way more respect for a guy who uses a Honda Goldwing than I do some ijit on a hog. At least the former has the right tool for the job!

What job? Transporting themselves from A to B? Who's to say their choice of bike is any more/less appropriate that another? I tour on a sports bike, I know it's not the most comfortable option, but it's a compromise I'm willing to accept for it's power and handling.

If you "need" a Goldwing, then the right tool for the job is a car.

It's not modified from standard. At 14,000 rpm it's plenty loud enough.

As long as you don't do 14,000 rpm at traffic lights

That'd get on my own tits. I generally wait for school zones, traffic calmed subdivisions and animal sanctuaries to go nuts with the throttle.

That's very good. Did you make it up or hear it somewhere?

my word what a bunch of moaning old farts. and no, I don't ride a harley. I know plenty of people riding sports bikes and japanese cruisers that are way louder than the standard, out of the crate harleys. as for being over priced, you're paying for a name...just like how designer shoes and suits cost more. why do levi jeans charge more than george at walmart? the source materials are pretty much the same, they just have small differences in style and how they're put together.

if people worried more about how THEY drive than how loud somebody's exhaust system is then there'd be no need for those loud exhausts.

and yes, I just allowed myself to get trolled.

I don't know what's worse the loud exhuasts or the incessant wittering on about them

Free flowing exhausts release more power. Harley owners need all the help they can get to haul all that heavy ironwork along the road.
