I'm wondering if welfare recipients should be allowed to have trafficators on their cars, or if we should insist on the use of hand signals to demonstrate their lowly status?

Perhaps it would also help if we insisted that private plates must include the letters "BUM"?

Maybe we care because were still here paying for it, she is paying in about under £2k a year tax and getting £12k back. Putting little in and taking plenty out.

Your right I do resent it why should all my money be earned and the majority of hers be benefits? I just don't think its right I have two children shouldn't I get the same if thats the case.

Although I have never keyed anybody's car or trashed anybody's house!!

It cuts off after a certain amount, we don't get anything, although not sure if they check, I don't think this person is claiming all the income coming into which is why she is getting so much.

I have been in other houses where there is less income and less benefit.

I've lept quiet on this thread up to now, then I watched on the news that the government are going to pay mothers who are 7 months pregnant to eat healthy:ohmy:, although this isn't likely to be monitored and they could spend it on fags and booze.:curse:

Having children is a choice, if you choose to have children they you should ensure you have the funds to support your children whatever. I choose not to have children, we have no family nearby, so one of us would have to give up work to look after them, I don't see the point of paying someone to look after my kids, or leaving them to come home from school to an empty house, so I can pay the mortgage, I would end up working for nothing. If one of us gave up our job then we would be living hand to mouth counting every penny, it is not how I want to live, I watched my mum struggle for years this way with no support whatsoever. This isn't for me so my choice is not to have children.

What I do object to is the preferential treatment families get nowadays, tax credit, subsidies for childcare, child allowance even choice of holidays/shifts/carers leave and now money to buy fruit so they can eat healthily:curse:.

I don't object to paying for education in my taxes, but I do object to subsidizing other people to have children, and constantly getting the short end of the stick. Al and I pay our taxes, we don't get any money back (I even have to pay tax on the money, £63/month,paid to me to buy a car that I only use for work), as a married, healthy childless couple we don't cost the government anything, we just pay. Fair enough, I'm not grumbling about paying tax because tax is just part of life, but why should I pay for other people to have children, that to me isn't fair. If you can't afford children don't have them, or don't have as many, children should be cherished, but for some people now they are just a commodity, a way of getting a house/money/food. Half of these people shouldn't be allowed to have children as they haven't got a clue how to raise them. I would rather my hard earned money be spent on ccompulsoryparenting classes as part of anti natal treatment than a bunch of bloody banana's:curse:

I sort of raised this earlier when I asked if the people who earned £££ gave their child benefit back. Why should everyone get money to pay for children??
I worked with plenty of people who had a very good income and who saved their kiddy cash up for "treats", they didnt need it.

One thing about this case that really should have been asked is, are the kids well looked after, are they clean, clothed, supervised etc?? Is so then is that all that should matter???

I am off to eat supper now. I must get a life outside this forum
