You've only been in Van a few months. I'd just focus on building out your network for now. |

How fit are you?
Are you like Victoria Secrets type fit or Norah Batty style? We need pics to see if the Vancouver guys are missing out on an English rose. Do you have any belfies or whatever they call them? |

Re: Back to the UK for a potential spouse or stay in Canada
You were happy enough to move away from this guy so why are you pining now? It dies sound as if you'll settle for him as you can't see yourself finding someone suitable in Van.
It could be the way I've read it of course. Or you could settle and marry so you could have kids and then it doesn't happen. Don't force it. Love is like a fart, if you have to force it, it's probably shit. Attrib Anon. |
Re: Back to the UK for a potential spouse or stay in Canada
Look to surrounding area's and less in Vancouver, sucks sometimes since you end up needing to commute to see a significant other, but people seem to be friendlier once outside Vancouver.
I think Vancouver is just weird when it comes to dating, I never had success there, everyone I met lived in a surrounding city within an hour. |

I don't have beard but I could grow a ginger beard..... but I don't shoot animals or disembowel them, so guess that's why several generation Canadians don't like me much.....

Definately not the case. I has already decided to come out here before I met him. Plus we were only friends so we got closer as the months went on. Yes I could have stayed in the UK but it would have been one IEC down the drain. Also might have regretted not going Perhaps he could look into Provincial Nomination (Trades) or FSW Trades if he really likes it here and you want to give it a try. Alternatively, could he come out on an IEC next year and you get a 2nd year if necessary? As to not being able to meet people easily with your present work hours, my son has the same difficulty. :) |
Re: Back to the UK for a potential spouse or stay in Canada
go back for a visit. Bring him out here to see Van. Then see where it goes. My brother lives in NZ with a much smaller population than we have here. He's married - to a girl - which in itself is amazing. If he can manage it, anyone can.
