The mental images alone have made this thread probably the best one ever.

Can you get a power washer and shoot water up the chimney? or down the chimney?

mmm... we did that to someone's house years back when I was in the army and the firemen were on strike. No squirrel involved, but the chimney was on fire.

The water we sprayed into the chimney put the fire out but the mess washed out onto the floor after was horrendous!

The answer of course is to find a victorian street urchin and send him/her up the chimney to extract the squirrel.

What's needed is obviously a squirrel proof bird feeder. Put this in range of the varmint and it won't be able to resist the challenge.

You could then blast it with the weapon of your choice.

I have the perfect solution. Attach a pair of hair straighteners to a block heater and use the electric spark produced to fire electric shocks into the chimmney.

... Naturally you'd also need use a UK TV set and game console as part of the circuit for the biggest effect...

I suppose you had to adapt that method as you couldn't find any good cheese.

When I had a problem with squirrels in my garage in N.S. I bought a suitable humane cage trap for a few bucks. Hunger will solve the problem ! Make sure that there is nothing laying around for them to eat. Bait the trap with peanut butter and a couple of peanuts in the shells. They can't resist. I then took them for a drive into the country and released them.
Problem solved.
