So the little nest that was being feathered outside our kitchen window has been plundered, I am assuming by the squawky Magpies that have turned up from nowhere. So I'll not be able to watch them hatch and grow

We have a fairly big yard and a couple of years ago, we had to carry fly swatters with us every time we went down the stairs to the beach.

We basically had to wave them over our heads all the time until we got past the red winged blackbirds kill zone.
