Does anyone know if you can use a V561 Certificate of Permanent Export to register a car in Ontario once it gets here?
I damn well lost the V5, one of the kids shredded it, so have applied to Swansea for a V561 so I can register my car in Ontario as the DVLA was notified by the tear off strip the car was exported.
But I don't know anyone else who has used a V-561 before in Canada instead of the V5.

I don‘t know about other provinces, but any vehicle brought into Saskatchewan from out of province has to pass a safety inspection, (which costs a bit) before it can be licensed, and very few over 10 years old make the grade.

Sorry for raising an old thread but i'd like to put my VW Multivan weekender in a container and bring it with me.
I have had a price for putting it in a container to Vancouver but want to know if when i pick it up from customs could i then put the rest of my stuff from the container back in to my van once it has cleared customs and drive it to Calgary on Jersey number plates? I would need to obtain insurance from a Canadian insurance company (does anyone have any recommendations?) i know.
Can anyone think of any problems with my plan?
Thanks.
Mike.
