I can imagine. You are rightly proud of your friend overcoming their scotch upbringing and and attaining success in the civilized world. Far to few scotch people make it that far.

Most of the Scotch people I have met seemed to have a big chip on their shoulder. That can't help them get along in life. I feel bad for them.

I met an Italian chap last wek and he said that he thought all Scotish people were tight and shopped at Value Village. Bit harsh tagging the whole of the Scotish race with that brush but he seemed to think that it was appropiate.

I just think that you should stick to your roots rather than change to suit what others want you to be so that you obtain better PR - if he hates English people (& I am not saying he does) fair play if he sticks to his guns and doesn't give two fecks what anyone thinks.

I also find some (not all) Scotish people get very defensive about all things Scotish (I had a discussion with a strap who argued Braveheart was an accurate historical account; I pointed out that it was subject to some artist license so he accuss me of being anti-Scotish! Get a life!). Stop taking life so serious; you don't have to like something just because it hails from North of the Border! If it is so great there, why do so many up sticks and go down South or even emigrate to places like Canada. Take a chill pill.

All Italians are greasy daegos. This statement could be used to highlight how idiotic he sounds.

It's Federer's playing ability that puts food on his table. His niceness is simply an add-on. Watch how nice he is on the court playing for every point and trying to demoralize his opponent.

Restricting the semi finals to just 4 each year's starting to get on my nerves. The organizers should make it more inclusive rather than letting players drop by the wayside over the prior week. It's a disgrace.

Funny enough 4 normally get to the semis and 2 to the final. Also to get to the later stages you have to enter it.

All of the above is quite obvious but then so was your post!

And there was me thinking you just show up with your bat and ball, and hope for the best

I hate Wimbledon. It's supposed to be an "open" but when I turn up they never even let me watch let alone play. This year it was more dissapointing than previous as Anna Kournikova made her return.

Andy Murray will achieve more than Tim Henman in the game but whether he ever win's a grand slam??? Nadal and Federer seem to have him measured in any serious match.

Very few tennis players or sports professionals have personalities at all these days.

One less now. Bob Probert certainly had "personality".
