explain to me how this OTA/FTA works for an analog TV?

What do I need to get in terms of type & price of equipment - antenna, receiving box etc & then, how many stations (call sign) can you get living in the GTA?

An explanation or link to the equipment or 'how to do it' would be great

Thanks

you mean I have to fork out $400 (tax included) for something like a 42" LCD/LED TV just to get OTA/FTA digital TV signals?

Then I need an antenna on top of that....

Terribly sorry if I came across as a bit of a bell end. Just a bit of humour gone radically wrong.

Plus, your mum ***** pigs.

Oink, it wasn't a reply that I expected, all the same thanks for the input.

I mentioned cutting off the cable service & going with an Android XMBC box I'd lose the local stations, so we'd need a D/A device & antenna of some sort. The minimum must get stations would be CBC, CTV, TVO, CITY TV & whatever else is available

I did the usual 'google is your friend' search & came up with two options

1. The TV tuner card for the computer

2. A Digital to Analog STB with an decent amplified antenna

Cost to do this is in the $125 - $150 range tax in

A list of the OTA/FTA digital channels available in the GTA

O.T.A Over the Air Channels in HD from Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Scarborough, DTV HDTV Channels with Over the Air

Sorted for now

Go XMBC.....Go to sport devil, then live TV then look for live UK TV and all the channels will be listed.
Also look for Film On that's ok too but after a while u will get the hang of where all the stuff is. Takes time and seems to be more time spent fiddling than watching, but it does get easier, Honest

Oh and Wiz Wig for UK lower league footie EG Blackpool

Magnumpi, we've started to look in to an alternative to Apple TV as we don't have cable and watch bbc on the laptop which is "getting old"... We were only a few km from Oakville today but didn't try finding the store as we don't know where it is... do you have an address/name of the store... not sure whether we're better off going in or having it mailed to near Barrie although I do like the idea of getting the guided tour from Malik so I have some idea how to use it when at home... Thanks

Store is on the north west corner of Harwood and Hunt in Ajax, on the plaza next to a Donut store. Pic of the store front is on a previous post in this thread.

Just watched the Khan fight on Sky Sports 1 on mine, he bossed that fight against a good opponent, Looks like he on they way up again the kid from Bolton.
