Default 2009 / 2010 ski injuries . . .

Ok - so today Hubby & I went up Seymour - he has the week off and we have been up Mon and Tuesday too!

I managed to nail the black run at the top of Brockton - but only cos some kid flew past me onto it and I thought bugger that . . ..

So we decide to head down for some lunch - nice little Green run to the last chair - I wellied it - stood waiting at the bottom - ho hum, where is hubby - he isnt that slow.

he comes v v v slowly round the corner on his board - clutching his left shoulder - yup broken his collar bone.

First aid team, on the stretcher and up the run on the skidoo - yes I have a picture!

Off to casualty at Burnaby General hosp and I must say it was a v pleasant experience -well for me - he obv was in a bit of pain . .

So - x ray - yup broken but no strapping just heavy drugs, and he bopard again in 3 weeks!!

Ok who is next? ............

I'd be surprised if it was me.

Why anyone wants to go sliding down a mountain on a bit of wood is well beyond my terms of reference.

Not even certain I will get the chance to injure myself on skiis this year. At present my knee doesn't even like being twisted a little bit!

Maybe after Christmas .......

I agree!

No injuries this season so far.

My previous injuries include totally messing up both knees in one season. I tore both left and right ACL ligaments and have since had two surgeries and six months of physio to correct this.

I rather stupidly thought it was a good idea to carry on the season after damaging the first knee, with a rather ill equipped knee brace for the injury. Then sometime in April fell and tore the other ACL.
Definitely learnt a few lessons from that experience.

clearly skiers have too many knee injusries. the obvious remedy to this would be to snowboard instead!

Yes, and replace them with wrist and arse injuries.

ever heard of protective gear?
snowboarders may fall more initially, but there are always more ski casualties.
