Wait till you believe that Canadian made beer is the best in the world

I noticed today that the gap where the "british style" baked beans used to be- they haven't had them in stock for a month or so- has now disappeared completely.

You people weren't buying enough of them!

Of course I bought the 'Molasses with pork' variety

When I noticed this, I tried the British shop for real British beans. The woman there said she'd given up stocking them because they are on sale cheaper at WalMart than she can buy them wholesale. Bit of a bean crisis here.

It's not that they're better but that they're ours. Like Proustian madeleines for the English, innit?

Walmart had the beans in stock on Friday. I left a couple of cans so as not to appear greedy.

Toast, marmite, beans and cheese.

but I much prefer the Canadian kind to soggy beans in watery tomato sauce.
I'm having a go with Clarks regular beans this weekend, hopefully this'll be a good substitute.
I think the British Baked Bean peaked (in evolutionary terms) with the Branston Baked bean, but couldn't see them on the shelves of the Tesco megastore last time I was over. Maybe it's the end of civilisation as we know it.

I bought the Clark's because they were on sale @ GT but normally I'd go for the Stoke's at Dollarama. I get the Mr Goudas black beans there too for making chili and refritos.
