Yes my OH bought some, they are all over the place now. I must admit not having the desire to only eat British Heinz baked beans I find Walmart own brand beans perfectly acceptable.

Walmart and Superstore have the British style cans. Walmart also have the imports in their little British section at 1.99 I think.

Doesn't anyone make baked beans anymore? Soak, rinse, molasses, Keens Mustard, pork, onions, tomatoes, salt, pepper..... when the oven still had a door on it I used to bake beans once in awhile.

I've come across a couple of recipes that look worth a try.

It's super easy, you need a bean pot though. If you aren't too posh 6 or 7 dollars buys one at the Sally Ann or Value Village.

I went into the little tea room/Brit store the other day to check out the British groceries. mistake! I walk in with my army surplus camo jacket and realtree Browning cap and it was if I'd stumbled into someone's funeral by mistake. It was almost full of extremely old prim looking people with white hair picking away at who knows what, and they couldn't help stopping and staring and the big cartoon thought bubbles all had CRADLE!! in them, (being able to read those is only one of my superpowers). Except for a couple of 30 or 40 something daughters helping their parents along I was easily the youngest person, even in my state of advanced middle age. Tiny jars of Marmite, mustard, larger ones of Branston pickle, onions, all arranged like trophys on a few shelves, and quite pricey. the can of Heinz Beans was $3, (welcome to Inuvik!) And there was no pot noodle so I left, 40 or so rheumy eyes trying to burn a hole in my back. I didn't have the courage to stop and read the chalkboard menu.

Quite honestly i bought a couple of the heinz "British Style" and was extremely dissaponted with the bland nature of the product.

Not as good as the canadian Heinz original (not the deep-browned) beans in tomato sauce or Clark's which are the best I've found.
