I do feel the OP would be well advised to contact old friends, other family, school and college contacts and also community and religious organizations, Salvation Army etc. Perhaps some reflection on his/her previous interactions with family members may illuminate why and how this situation came to pass?
Anyway, here's a Thought for the Day for you all...... (I borrowed it from another place, but I don't think they will mind)
