A question for the men in Penang

A question for the men in Penang
That's got you wondering eh
Mr bakedbean was mithering this morning that his ancient little bottle of ethanol (which he uses for cleaning any stubborn marks off floors etc) is rather depleted. He said that he cannot imagine that this product would be available in Malaysia. (It is basically alcohol, though you wouldn't wish to drink it.)
Any DIYers know if this is true? Or is it available in hardware stores here? Maybe under a different name?

Here's an alternative -
Gently scrapping the paint mark, insect pooh, or whatever with a Stanley knife blade or craft knife will often get the worst of it off easily. Next, rub the remainder with one of the following, all available here:
Solvent Thinner (clear glass bottle, about the size of a Coke bottle)
Turpentine (clear glass bottle, about the size of a Coke bottle)
Mosaic Cleaner (clear liquid, small plastic bottle)
Lighter fuel
If all else fails, raid the kitchen cupboards for Cif or similar.

I know that you can buy alcohol in Thailand 'rubbing alccohol' also sold in Philippines.
Here you could try to find Isopropylalcohol. (Which is not for inner use)

Thanks Gunnar......and welcome to the forum
Mr bakedbean says that is the next best thing. Have you seen it in Penang? Hardware store or pharmacy I wonder.
Yes he got the ethanol from Thailand, but we don't go back there any more.

The cleaning alcohol can be bought in most hardware stores.
You could also try your luck at the hardware section in Tesco I suppose
