Umbria is a perfect region for cycle touring (Slow tourism). Away from the main routes the roads are very quiet. There are plenty of unspoiled towns and villages that you would just drive past as a motorist. The main issue is the amount of climbing involved. With an electric bike almost anyone can manage a hilly tour. With the move to greener holidays there are good possibilities in Umbria.

How much commission does the regional tourist board pay you? ;-)

Seriously, yes, you have a point. I think that it's possible to make the same argument for other areas of Italy too.
