Pets to the UK
#1
I have just been told that the rules on animals going to the UK are changing in Jan 2012.
I just phoned Defra for clarification.
As of 1st Jan 2012 all the animal needs is a microchip, then rabies shot and passport. Then the tick and worm treatment before the journey. (Although that is subject to changing before Jan 1st,so was advised to keep checking their web-site)
The animal will no longer need a blood test to check the rabies shot has worked.
It can also travel 21 days after the rabies shot and no longer have to wait for 6 months.
I hope this is all clear, and helps somebody thinking of taking their animal to the UK from January.

When you think the UK has open borders for people who arrive with horrible diseases why worry about animals , TB is taking off big time, plus minor ailments like AIDS
