Pets to the UK
I have just been told that the rules on animals going to the UK are changing in Jan 2012.
I just phoned Defra for clarification. As of 1st Jan 2012 all the animal needs is a microchip, then rabies shot and passport. Then the tick and worm treatment before the journey. (Although that is subject to changing before Jan 1st,so was advised to keep checking their web-site) The animal will no longer need a blood test to check the rabies shot has worked. It can also travel 21 days after the rabies shot and no longer have to wait for 6 months. I hope this is all clear, and helps somebody thinking of taking their animal to the UK from January. |

Re: Pets to the UK
When you think the UK has open borders for people who arrive with horrible diseases why worry about animals , TB is taking off big time, plus minor ailments like AIDS
