Looks a little more up market than tesco's !
The nearest I've found is thin sliced pancetta at Iper.

Re: Bacon

The only one I've been able to find is in a SISA supermarket, it is by Citterio and is called bacon.
Very thinly sliced, quite fatty, but acceptable since it's the only one I can find.
Not a lot of big chain supermarkets our way.
Oh, and I had that sort of breakfast in Spain recently.
ciao for now,
'o nonno

My mouth is watering. I'm swear there is a smell coming from the pic and I don't even like fry ups.:D I don't know where you can get bacon. I sometimes buy a bacon joint in Bolzano or the Polish section of the supermarket and Ikea at Xmas.

I always get the bacon from Lidl. It's called Bacon but sometimes its called Pancetta but it's the exact same thing, probably a supply problem. It's thin and gets crispy, it's not fatty.

Any leftovers from the English breakfast get put into a bacon, brie and chutney baguette the day after. :)

Sorry, I made it sound like a wimp who can't finish his breakfast! In fact, I finish it down to the very last baked bean. What I meant was I always fry-up a lot of bacon, most of it gets used in the breakfast and the rest for my baguette. I should add that it's mango and apple chutney from the Asda premium range (yeah I know! a premium range for a chav's supermarket! Whatever next, bidets at McDonalds??!!).

Re: Bacon

It's not the bacon that bothers me... I can live with the pancatta. It's the baked beans :( A local supermarket was selling them for around .30 cents but the stock ran out and not replaced, our 'local' Lidl is about 25 miles away and I refuse to pay 2 euros for Heinz at Achan

Re: Bacon

I followed the post re 'Bacon' from Eurospin and got some - €1.79 for 200 grams and the equivalent of streaky bacon in the UK. It's not the rashers we all perhaps yearn for but ok in a buttie!
