yes it does mean they received a case officer. others on the forum have stated it and mine indicated that the same day i received an email from my case officer.

Cath, I think DIAC have been focusing on the state sponsored and CSL, so should be your turn soon. I have not been aware of any check on my current employer by DIAC, but Vic Gov did check my current employer before.

Just received my WA SS approval this morning!! So happy!! Aplied 22/01 and approved 24/04 (practically 3 months).

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering in termsof the process once you get the SS visa granted.

How does this work?? Is it the following:-

1.) get it granted, then have to go and get passport stamped in london
2.) go to aus to activate in the state your sponsored or just an official place in aus, which place???

3.) then u have 5 years to leave the uk and emigrate??

I just want to know the process so i can start to time manage better.

No it does not mean you have a case officer, now i shall only say this once more, your application can go to say processing further for many reasons, ie your meds being attached or if you make a call to diac and someone accesses your file, or indeed possibly if you have a case officer, dont be telling people they have a case officer when you have no facts to back it up, yes possibly some do get one the same day, however i had processing further 4 months before i had a case officer and i actually rang them and discussed it with them. now im not being rude please dont think i am but this site has to many people predicting the future at the moment, someone even offered to predict when a visa would be issued the otherday, his words were "let me know your timeline and i will predict when you will have your visa", i mean come on the only person who can predict when you get your visa is the person who presses send when they let you have your visa grant letter.

Hey Steve,

My understanding is (and I am happy to be corrected if I am wrong)...

1) SS is granted and you then sign and return a contract with that state (together with a completed form 1100).

2) Submit the main DIAC application on the basis of SS approval

3) Wait for case officer to be assigned and get medicals and police clearance

4) [I]Hopefully[I] get VISA approval from DIAC and then have approx 12 months (depends on expiry date of police clearance) to get to Oz to get validation stamp in passport then have 5 years to make the final move.

Send a PLE to DIAC and get it confirmed whether you have a CO or not. Mine also changed to 'Being processed further' on 23rd March 2009 and DIAC confirmed on 25th that i have a case officer....as a reply to my PLE.

I believe that is all correct with the exception of a 475 ss visa, you only have 3 years to make the final move, 2 of which you need to live in that state.

Hi Regarding the first point, you do not get a contract to sign it is just a confiormation or acceptance mail that you have to send to the state.

Regarding form 1100, you do not have to fill it or do anything with it, the state directly sends it to DIAC confirming the nomination of us for the state nomination.

I got the sponsorship from VIC and this was the process and not sure any of other states have any other practice..
