We're a UK family with Oz citizenship, and just had a baby in NSW.
Be aware that the Oz regime seems to be very different from the UK, and we felt that there was a stricter (and rather alarmist) regime for prebirth healthcare. And our birth was not "natural" - eg induced first, then two hours of pushing (with an epidural, which is makes pushing impossible) then immediately prescribed an unwanted C-section. 8 of 10 recent mums we've met reported a similar experience.
To be truthful we're all a little sore, and read that the NSW incidence of C-sections is twice that of the UK. We're not sure why, but suspect this is because the health service in Oz is more risk adverse, and optimised more for the hospital, than for the mum.
