My apply was received 29 June (880) and received a request for new
medicals in April as the ones sent with the application had expired
due to a delay with an ACS appeal.

Where did you read that all pre July are to be completed by end of
financial year?

Thanks for that. Whilst encouraging, I cant see how such a promise can
be made in practice. So many 'what if's would seem to make it
impractical unless they have a 'lets approve everything' week!

Mum, Are we there yet?!! is on a distinguished road
Angry Re: pre july04 med requests

Hi - We're mid-June'04 136 skilled (just made MODL list but too far into system to now speed it up - sods law - along with 2 weeks later and we'd have been a Julyer - and there now!!!!). We decided Feb'05 to get medicals and PCs done (against Agents advice). We felt we just had to do something as the wait is - well you all know 'cause I read everybodies threads - anyway anthing to speed the process especially as booking medicals were taking approx 4-6 weeks, so we thought by end March (date of medicals) we'd could have been asked to supply them anyway!!!!!.

Agent supplied all med forms and case number (still no CO to date) and an Adelaide address. Medicals itself v.painless. Doctor said he'd send to Sydney. "?" I queried this and he waived his DIMIA instruction papers infront of me and said thats where they go, so I guess he must know best. Now I'm faced with the thoughts of did he send them to Sydney because that's where they now go (July'04 onwards) and more worryingly have they even reached DIMIA?

Word of advice make sure you find out exactly how the doctors sends everything, ours said we can pay extra for courier (hindsight £10 was cheep?) but then found out it was just by Royal Mail whose tracking number will only provide evidence upto the point of leaving the UK, after that you'll never know. Advice pay extra for FEDEX or similar = piece of mind = less worries = more time to worry about other what iffs!

Now we will not hear anything (assuming everything is received/forwarded to the correct city) until the delightful day when that longed for visa is issued.

In hindsight I wish that we'd got the medicals done but asked them to hold until they were requested. At least we'd know something was being done by DIMIA and they could be sent v.quickly back. I hope this helps others in similar boat.
