Yeah I think what he meant was you get tonnes more mistakes and incomplete applications on paper - on top of which we've got the August backlog - while online applications by their nature are generally more complete and accurate. The end result is that the paper queue is much slower than the online one, and obviously an incomplete individual application will be slowed down.

You do hear as well that priority is given to agent applications, not sure how accurate that is.

Oh my GOD this is taking over my life!! I'm going to the pub

Thought is was just me (the taking over your life bit) its like an obsession

I have applied for (paper based) OZ immigration in June 2008, I'd like to know how do people generally get the acknowledgement of receipt application.

Is it through one e-mail or two e-mails from DIAC. Like I have received one e-mail from eGSM.autonotifications and the other from Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre - Admin Unit Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC) stating that my application has been received.

I don't think anyone will be surprised?

It is very interesting concept that they think skilled migration is important and yet are willing to accept this ongoing backlog.

I do feel better that my money was taken for the application though - before it was put in the pile with the 7000 others!
