we got our visa today folks, we are 2nd oct paper based, congratulations on all the visas and case officers keep them coming !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried, I really did. I phrased the question from every angle I could think of and what it boils down to is the simple fact of the extra effort required to process paper applications due to human error, whereas online the application must be correct/complete to be able to submit.

Folks - we're just going to have to hunker down and sit this one out I'm afraid.

Shhh I've got washing to get dry! We're a Dec ack and I don't expect to know anything until November. Thought I'd try to become a little less obsessed as have been away for a week, but no, back on here again!

called ASPC, they confirmed that still no co for me. Told me that 175 paperbased applications are upto 19 Sept. I think I am the only left in october. Applied 15th oct, ack 25th oct.

I am guessing by maroonedNZ's post that the more mistakes on the application the longer its going to take then?

We had an agent and the reason we used one was because we didn't want to make any errors.........could this be why I got mine before someone earlier???

Yeah I think what he meant was you get tonnes more mistakes and incomplete applications on paper - on top of which we've got the August backlog - while online applications by their nature are generally more complete and accurate. The end result is that the paper queue is much slower than the online one, and obviously an incomplete individual application will be slowed down.

You do hear as well that priority is given to agent applications, not sure how accurate that is.

New to this thread but nice to know there are other people in the same boat.

Let's hope they send all the processing staff on speed reading courses.....!

Basing it on the fact that they are now dealing with March onliners would it be worth submitting one online. We actually thought of doing this in January when we realised what was happening.

Looking at whats happening the Jan application would've probably come before the Oct paper one.

You will get your money back for which ever one isn't required as far as I am aware?????

I totally had the same thought recently. But if you applied online now, let's say you get acknowledged pretty much straight away, it would still probably take you to December so you'd only be saving a week or two. And I'm pretty sure one of the experts on here told me you had to pay all over again - it might be on the paper applications thread.

For sure! At least I'm waiting onshore now and am single (look out aussie boys) so don't have to go through all the house selling and school changing etc most poor folk have to go through! Am lucky really.
