When we applied, we only got "recognised" for 115 points instead of 120, because of a system glitch. This has been worrying us for months but we have never managed to get through to DIAC on the phone to clarify. Using the "contact us" button on the status page also got us no replies.
Recently, deciding to start on the Mary Campaign (see Jan'08 thread!
thanks, Mary!
In the email, OH mentioned the 5 point problem again. Couple of days later, we got the automated reply... BUT a few days after that, we got a SECOND reply, and this one specifically answered our email and confirmed the 5 points had been granted and a note was put on our file.I've rambled on too long, but the moral of the story is - they DO read the emails! Seems to me they send the standard reply first but if you're very very lucky, and if they deem it necessary, you will get a personalised reply!
I don't post much here as the office server sometimes disallows it
, but reading this thread with everyone so despondent, I thought we'd share our experience.... there's still hope! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Hi everyone. We applied for a 175 (electronic) on 28th January, with OH as internal auditor (non MODL). Still no case officer yet (and we should hear once we get once, because we didn't front-load meds and pcc).

), we renewed our passports and used that as an excuse to email DIAC. We even filled in Form 80 so we'd have something to send

Ok everyone who is nervous about complaining - I JUST GOT MY VISA!
I filled in the complaint form 2 days ago, really just politely requesting a timeline rather than complaining.
Applied for a 176 on paper on 17 March 2008. So there you go - it can't be a coincidence!!!
Promptly burst into tears and am now off out to have a bath in some expensive champagne

I've got a feeling DIAC are suddenly going to be unindated with complaints...

I just said - what's the deal with the huge gap between paper and online, pointed out that I'm already onshore, went on a bit about my plans for the business, that I knew how busy Adelaide was but could they possibly provide a genuine timeline - stuff like that!
It could just be a coincidence but I really don't believe that, not with Sharkiebites having the same experience.

It was definitely the complaint form that spurred my application being processed. I received a further email, in addition to the one from my CO, as follows:
Dear Miss Judge,
Thank you for your feedback received on 6 September 2008 which has been forwarded to me for reply and follow up. Please note that a pre grant letter was sent to you today.
Yours Sincerely,

Spurred on by some of the posts on this bb recently, I filled in a complaint form yesterday and got a standard response back about processing times and huge delays due to massive amount of applications received in Aug 07. I was also given the standard DIAC email address to email a blank email to for a standard timeline update.
So, in my case, it does not seem to have spurred on any great flurry of activity.....but it was only yesterday.......so I have hope !!!
Cheers!
