Seriously hr lr don't matter all it matters is from west always fast even if you are from japan there is different rules.that's what I see around

Its nothing to do with "west" or "ëast". High risk countries require more security checks, thus the process takes longer.

We're in the same position, I submitted our ss 176 on 29 November 2011 and we got our medical and pcc request yesterday. Bit of a shock!

Does anyone know if this means the application has been accepted or is this just diac trying to save a bit of time later.

Have lodged my 176 application on 3 Nov 2010.
Below are the details. I'm from a LR country.

- 15 June 2010 - Applied for Skills assessment (Engineers Australia)
- 19 October 2010 - Received positive skills assessment from EA (ANZSCO 233512: Mechanical Engineer)
- 03 Nov 2010 - 176 lodged (Relative sponsorship)

I guess it will be more than a year before CO is allocated.

My understanding is that the police checks and medical request is the final hurdle. We got an update on the tracking system on 16 Feb that 'medicals finalised', we have nothing left to supply to DIAC so I will report back here when/if visa is granted...hopefully not too long now.

Hi,

I'm from Pakistan and following are the steps which I have taken to lodged my 176 state sponsored(VIC) visa application:

1. Lodged 1st ACS application ASCO 2231-79 (.NET Technologies) in March 2009.

2. Got approval of 1st application on in May 2009.

3. Couldn't lodge 175 visa application and DIAC changed it's rule so had to seek for sponsorship.

4. Applied for state sponsorship in FEB 2010.

5. Got VIC state sponsorship approval against ASCO 2231-79 (.NET Technologies) in the start of May.

6. DIAC suspended visa application acceptance and during that tenure my ACS expired.

7. Again lodged ACS skills assessment application in AUG against "ANZSCO 261399 Software and Applications Programmers nec" as DIAC introduced new version of ASCO 2231-79 as "Software and Applications Programmers nec"

8. Got ACS approval against "Software and Applications Programmers nec" in Oct 2010.

9. Lodged 176-visa application in Oct 2010 and submitted skills assessment against "261399 Software and Applications Programmers nec" and state sponsorship against "2231-79"
