Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your e-mail in relation to your clients visa application
under Australia’s General Skilled Migration program.
You will be aware that the Minister has made an adjustment to Australia’
s migration intake to ensure that the skilled migration program is
responsive to the worsening global economic situation. On 16 March 2009
a revised processing order for applications with identified skills in high
demand took effect. Applications with employer or state or territory
sponsorship continue to receive first priority, then those with business
skills and with an occupation on the Critical Skills List (CSL). The aim
is to improve the skilled migration program so that migrant workers are
meeting skills shortages and not competing with Australian workers for
jobs. The Minister is monitoring the migration intake and will aim to set
the 2009-2010 migration program to reflect the economic climate as part
of the Budget process.
Your client has nominated a skilled occupation that is not on the CSL and
their application is not currently eligible for priority processing.
While we empathise with their circumstances, we are sorry to advise that
this application is not able to be finalised this financial year.
Applications that are currently ineligible for priority processing may be
progressed when the economy returns to growth. Should your clients be
able to secure employment in Australia, they may wish to consider an
employer-sponsored visa or alternatively seek State or Territory
government nomination.
An eligible Australian employer could sponsor the applicant and guarantee
to employ you for a period of time under the Temporary Business (Subclass
457) visa, the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) or the Employer
Nomination Scheme (ENS).
AS MY ASCO CODE IS 2231-79(ORACLE)......THIS IS COMPLETELY CONTRADICTING...

Hello Experts,
I'm new to this thread. ACS has assessed me in 2231-17(Applications & Analyst Programmer). Basically, I'm a Computing Professional [specialising in .Net technologies]. I'm worried as what is my option here.
It would really be great if someone can shed you suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

Now, there is a problem in your case. Are you sure you nominated the right occupation. Alot of people nominated Applications and analyst programmer-don't rem the ASCO Code. This is on SOL (skilled occupation list). You or agent must be having a copy of your application that you filled out. Please check that application. It is very annoying when agents make mistakes. The only reason could be that you had nominated a wrong occupation and most likely it was applications and analyst programmer. You will have to check this. Obviously you misunderstood and did not realize it.
Now, if you made this mistake, follow these steps.
You have to change your occupation to the ASCO Code for Computer Professional not elsewhere classified (nec) or whatever occupation you mentioned in your application with the specialisation stated in brackets - for example, in your case it will be 2231-79 computing professional nec (oracle).
For this first take a print out of the form 1023 (form to correct the incorrect information that you had provided). Fill it. Everyone who is on your application and is above 18years of age will have to sign the application. Scan it and then send it to them at
[email protected]
Also send an ACS approval letter.
Also mention ur TRN/file number in the mail when sending them this form thru mail.
Then send a PLE saying that you have sent the form. you can explain as to why this mistake was made (if you want) and say that you would like it changed.
You will receive a reply that they have updated your application. Allow 5-10 working days for the same.

Swati

Whatever ACS nominates you in...i think you have to nominate the same on your application.
You will have to clear this with ACS.

Hello swati, lalit and all
I am a 2231-79 (.NET) as assessed by ACS. As per the recommendation in this thread, last week I send 1023 form saying that email-addresses in this thread
1. My occupation is 2231-79 .NET specialist not 2231-79 (nec) and there's no option for my specialization.
2. My occupation is on CSL
Today I got this :-(
******************************
Dear ********
Thank you for your email.
Please be advised that you have, in fact, nominated the correct occupationon your online application form. Computing Professionals Not Elsewhere Classified is the nominatedoccupation you are to select if you have a specialisation as it correspondsto your ASCO code of 2231-79
****************************
I was expecting a reply saying "you have been put into CSL"... seems like they just ignored my 1023...
Please help and let me know how to convince them to put myself on CSL

Man it seems you have chosen right occupation. Even DIAC have replied with same. Even we are sending PLE and 1023 to change our occupation from 2231-17(we have selected this as our occupation i.e. 2231-79 .NET specialist was not in list) to Computing Professionals Not Elsewhere Classified. You have already chosen right occupation and are on CSL. You was not suppose to send 1023 but just PLE.
Send them PLE mentioning that your occupation is in CSL so consider you for priority processing.
That will be all.

Oh is it..I thought 1023 is also to inform them that I'm on CSL.. I knew I have chosen the right (nec) occupation. But my motive was more of a CSL.. Need to launch a PLE then..
Can we attach ACS report in PLE? Or I should just say..I'm on CSL, please consider it..

You needn't to attach ACS report, anyway you have already uploaded all docs. They asked me send ACS report as I requested to change my occupation.

It seems that they did not understand. Write to them again. Say that you had mailed them previously (give the reference number) for the mail. Say that ur occupation is 2231-79 (nec) (.Net specialist). The occupation 2231-79 nec is not on even on MODL.(reference:http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...-in-demand.htm)
Tell them to refer to ur ACS application. Send that also as an attachment. Also tell them that u believe that there is a difference between 2231-79(nec) and 2231-79(nec)-.net specialist and you are a .net specialist. You just have to be persistent.
I would suggest you to mail again explaining everything.
Last resort is to call their call centre. Bear in mind that it takes 16-17 mins to get a representative. So this should only be the last resort.

Do you think 2231-79(nec) and 2231-79(nec)-.net specialist will make any difference ? As in the occupation list it is not mentioned and they are not asking for specifically mentioning our specialisation(even in visa application option is 2231-79(nec) and not with any specilisation) . If we choose 2231-79(nec) and suggest them that we are in CSL, I hope that should make things clear. In my 1023 letter I have just requested to change my occupation to 2231-79(nec).
I hope that should be fine. Please suggest if you any other specific information to mention speciality as well.

Swati,
I want to understand what extra benefit will I get by informing them about my CSL specialization through 1023 form versus raising PLE for the same.. In your case, when you lodged 1023, did they assure via email they you have been put into CSL queue.
