MODL IT Professionals -No CO yet - Need to launch PLE to come on CSL

Hi,

This thread is for IT professionals who have launched their applications either online or paper based and are not getting CO. There is a slight problem; there are many applicants who have selected or nominated by ACS as 2231-79 (specialisation) but have selected "Applications & Analyst Programmer" in their immigration application. Although, they did get an MODL but if their selected profession is "Applications & Analyst Programmer" they won't be added to CSL and won't be allocated a CO. I made this silly mistake and I have seen many other applicants on this forum who did the same thing. Some of them got correction and were added to CSL while other don't even know what is the cause that no CO is asssinged to them and they assume that they are on CSL.

Here is the reason for all this......
"Applications & Analyst Programmer" has ASCO code 2231-17 while ACS nominates 2231-79 to many users which is "Computing Professionals
not elsewhere classified (nec)" so if you have made similar mistake, please send a Post Lodgement Inquiry (PLE) to DIAC and ask them to change your nominated profession in your application. I did the same thing and waiting for a response from DIAC. I have seen some guys did that and their profession was changed and they got added to CSL.

Also, please keep this thread running and provide details of your application so that we could keep track of applications of IT professionals. To start with, here are my details.

Skilled Independent (Class VE, subclass 175) - Online - MODL(.NET Technologies Specialist) -appliation submitted on 6th Oct, 2008 (Assumed to be on CSL) but currently not on CSL. Hopefully, after occupation correction, I will be on CSL. ( NO CO yet)

Best of Luck to everyone , especially IT guys.

Hi Imran,

You are right. I made the same mistake. They have changed my occupation to Oracle specialist under 2231-79.

I received a reply stating that the occupation has been changed on the 31st March '09. I have not been assigned a case officer as yet.

I also should tell you that I am 1st Jan -08 applicant.

Did you use 1023 form or PLE? Also, how many days DIAC took to sent you reply that your nominated occupation has been changed??

Re: MODL IT Professionals -No CO yet - Need to launch PLE to come on CSL

Hi Imran,

Actually the problem is in the systems used for GSM processing, there was no capacity to split 2231-79 applicants into those with MODL and those without. So even if you did insert 2231-79 as your code, they still asked affected applicants to advise them of the MODL claim. Obviously a lot of applicants won't be aware of this, particularly ones without agents or whose agents aren't registered.

As noted in another thread we favour using the PLE system which creates an electronic record of the notice and is associated with your file.

Cheers,

George Lombard

I have sent PLE to DIAC regarding change in my occupation from 2231-17(Applications & Analyst Programmer) to 2231-79 (Specialising in C# and NET Technologies) . and consider me for CSL. Below is response

Yeah true Withorn,
but I don't know whether they hv changed my occupation or not. If CO see CSL on my file and Occupation as 2231-17(Applications & Analyst Programmer), may be he will not consider it. So I don't know whether they have chagned my occupation before marking it as CSL.

So confused and looking for advice. Thanks for replying

Just Call DIAC and ask them to let you know what is nominated occupation in your case? It will clear your confusion. If you would have old occupation, then ask them what to do? Most probably, they will ask you to submit form 1023 and DIAC will make the required change. But do call DIAC first.

Hi Lalithahuja,

I made the same mistake. I filled in a form 1023 scanned it and sent the form by email. I also used PLE. I got a 2 mails 10 days later-one mail was same as yours and there was another mail not from a generic diac website but some personalized email from the immigration dept advising me about the change.

I would suggest you to fill up that form.

Dear Mukesam,

I used both the mediums -PLE and the form 1023 scanned and emailed to them. I mentioned in my PLE that I have sent a form 1023 (incoorect information provided). I got a generic reply from DIAC and then a personalized mail addressed to me from the immi dept.
This process took 10 days. There is no need to call after that.

Cheers:-)

Thanks for your reply Mukesam,
As adviced by you and Swati, better I fill 1023, scan and send it. It should clear my all doubts.

Thanks Swati,
I will avoid PLE as I already sent two. One for considering 2231-17 for CSL and another for changing occupation to 2231-79 and considering for CSL. So I will directly fill form 1023,scan and will email.

Will post outcome here.

Lalitahuja,

I sent form 1023 to [email protected] (DIAC representative gave me this email address) two days ago and today I have received an emial from DIAC representative that my nominated occupation has been changed. So, you can do the same. Its not a very big issue. Just tell DIAC that mistakenly you chose the wrong occupation in your applicaiton and you picked up occupation that was chosed by you in ACS application instead of occupation that was suggested by ACS to you. That's it.

Best of Luck,

Re: MODL IT Professionals -No CO yet - Need to launch PLE to come on CSL

If a CO is assigned to an IT professional and who is on CSL, do post it in this thread. I am especially concerned about the people who recently changed their occupation to 2231-79 category from applications and analyst programmer. I am a 2nd Jan applicant on CSL but I had made this silly mistake. The mistake has been corrected as on 31st March.
My online status states "application being processed further". The DIAC informed me that this is a system generated comment and it does not mean that a CO is assigned.

Hi Swati,
I was planning to send form 1023 to DIAC and just want to confirm whether all applicants (Over 18 years) need to sign this form ?

Please suggest.
