Current Processing Dates

If your application date has recently come into our current processing date range you should allow at least 6 weeks to enable a case officer to complete the initial assessment. Please refrain from sending requests for an update on the status of your application within this 6 week period.

Priority Processed Applications
Under the priority processing direction we are giving priority in allocation to applications with a nominated occupation that appears in an active State Migration Plan - Priority Group 2.

Priority Group 3 applications are allocated only where all Priority Group
2 have already been allocated. Priority Group 4 cases will be allocated once all Priority Group 3 are allocated.

Applications lodged before the following dates are currently being considered by a case officer:

Priority 2 State Migration Plan*:
(* State migration Plan currently available for VIC, ACT, NT, QLD, Tas, WA & SA)

The South Australia State Migration Plan was released 5 January 2011.
Allocation of applications with an occupation on the SA SMP will commence in the week beginning 17 January 2011 and will continue concurrently with allocation of WA SMP cases.

For applications with an occupation on the Western Australia State Migration Plan the current allocation dates are as below -

Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) subclass 176 VE 176 (e-lodged): 12 November 2008 VE 176 (paper): 12 November 2008

Skilled – Sponsored (Residence) subclass 886:
VB 886 (e-lodged 24 December 2008
VB 886 (paper): 24 December 2008

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) subclass 475 VF 475 (e-lodged): 12 November 2008 VF 475 (paper): 12 November 2008

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) subclass 487 VC 487 (e-lodged 24 December 2008 VC 487 (paper): 24 December 2008

All other Priority 2 applications lodged on or before 13 December 2010 have been allocated.

Priority group 3

Skilled – Independent (Migrant) subclass 175 VE 175 (e-lodged): 14 January 2009 VE 175 (paper): 14 January 2009

Skilled – Sponsored (Migrant) subclass 176 VE 176 (e-lodged):14 January 2009 VE 176 (paper): 14 January 2009

Skilled – Regional Sponsored (Provisional) subclass 475 VF 475 (e-lodged): 14 January 2009 VF 475 (paper): 14 January 2009

Skilled – Independent Regional (Provisional) subclass 495 and Skilled – Designated Area Sponsored subclass 496 UX 495 and UZ 496 (e-lodged and paper): All applicants who have an occupation on the new Skilled Occupation List (SOL) – Schedule 3 have been allocated.

Well, I applied GSM VE175 (Independent) on 26 Sept 2009 and currently falls in Priority group3. But I already have been assigned a CO, then how this new priority processing will effect me.can any body shed some light over it.?

I'm with you on this one. Got a job (bit boring but a job) that pays well and plenty of time. Waiting doesn't cost money.

I applied under ss Victoria on 10 oct 2010 got my case officer one month later after that no news.same time same occupation same state ss he already granted visa.so I m wondering what kinda weed they are smoking? I m sure the timeline is nothing

Like your attitude figment......afterall, if we were granted a visa tomorrow, realistically would we get on the plane the next day.....NO.
Dont get me wrong i want nothing more but i have to get on with my life and not get too hung up on timeframes, and grants, not worth getting stressed over it and doing comparables, every case is different, they will, when they have time, get to our application, until then, life goes on.

Hi guys, long time no visit to the board,

Since August I have been working in NSW so I have been busy ignoring the whole immigration situation until now haha.

I have been getting the processing information email from DIAC reguarly, perhaps we could have a no-reply thread (sticky maybe?) so people don't have to come in asking about timeline in this site?

I have been comparing processing information every fortnight, pretty happy at the speed of processing for ve 886 family sponsored in priority group 3:

December-end processing update: processing November 2009
January-beginning processing update: processing March 2010

That's 4 months of application getting CO in a month! I have slightly become optimistic about processing catching up in this speed. Did the maths, in this current speed should catch up to all applicants of group 3 by April 2011...

One can hope and wish right?

My friend application, VF 176 (applied in August 2010) with WA state sponsorship has been assigned CO last week.

It is likely that all state sponsorship application will be completed by end of this month and priority 3 will start from feb. However, I expect a massive numbers of applications will need to assign CO since Jan 2008.

They are moving quite fast.
We have to wait and see if this week the Adelaide office updates it's information.

Hopefully they'll return to the 175s soon.
