I am there too. Lodged 2 December 2007 and have a CO allocated since last Sep 2008. Mailed my CO to check the status. He says since my application is not CSL it will be looked at in the next financial year 2010-2011.

My wife questions me whether we are going to go also or not.Dont know why this happens with us ONLY.Indian students outrage in Oz also has hurt our sentiments.Wife is afraid of going to Oz.Have convinced her but she is persistent.

Just forget about visa ..its very difficult.. atleast for more 2 years.
so do not wait for visa and instead of spoiling career, opt for some other option.
