Re: ACS free review application -- 60 day time limit
Thanks for the info.
I am in the same boat, although mine appears to have no paddles as I received my assessment on the 4th May. 60 days from this date was 2nd June so looks like I may have missed the windows.
I think this is wholly unfair as the SOL and ENSOL have only just been released and like you I would prefer to see what the SMP's are going to be.
I've contacted ACS to confirm this but if they think I'm going to pay another £270 they can shove it!

Re: ACS during ASCO-ANZSCO transformation
Hi,
You dont need a migration agent to answer this
You need to apply for a new ANZSCO code which will mean being reassessed if your ACS PASA letter has passed 60 days since it was issued to you. The following should be noted:
Can I be reassessed?
You will be able to undertake a reassessment if:
• You have been previously assessed as suitable under the old guidelines (e.g. PIM 2 Guidelines).
Please note that your assessment will be done based on our current guidelines, or
• You have previously been assessed as unsuitable, and feel you now meet the guidelines.
You need to lodge a new PASA application and pay a full applicable fee.
Applicants seeking recent work experience exemption: please note that once your qualification has expired, you can only be assessed in this category again if you have since completed a new qualification that meets the criteria.
Applicants that have previously applied for PASA do not need to provide all documents again.
To apply for a reassessment, you will need to provide:
• A new application form
• Appropriate payment
• Copy of previous assessment letter (or the reference number)
• Current identification if you have been issued a new passport
• Additional documentation
Please note that in spite of qualifications or experience previously being assessed as suitable, the ACS reserves the right to refute the previous decision or request further details relevant to these credentials.
Downside is that you need to pay again. On the plus, there is no need to send RPL reports again unless like me you want to add an additional an report to tick a few more boxes to do with either applications or programmes to match Nec - 261399
I hope this helps you and others in the same boat (Like me)
Best Wishes

Re: ACS during ASCO-ANZSCO transformation
Dear George, I want to get your consulting for the clarification of my situation. I received my state sponsorship letter from Queensland on 7th May 2010 and I have 2231-79 (Oracle Special) skill assessment. From your post, I am in the case of already state sponsered person. Then, Can I lodge my online appication for GSM 176 visa today?
I was wondering where you were with your 2231-79 (Oracle Spec)? I was told by DIAC and my agent last week that this code has a direct mapping to Shed 4 261399 and that I do NOT require a reassessment but to wait for the SMPs to be announced and apply for a 176 through my agent who will use my ASCO 2231-79 (Oracle Spec).
Cheers

I hope your agent is right because if he isn't then you could loose 3 - 4 months time !. BTW are they MARA certified, as I would only trust an agent with MARA registration.
Cheers,

I already had state sponsorship. So, I decided to apply GSM 176 visa today without reassessment.

Re: ACS during ASCO-ANZSCO transformation Old to New codes
Hi djmjx809,
Thanks for the update.
But whats the gurantee that ANZSCO 261399 would be included by states in their SMP? since ANZSCO 261399 includes multiple ASCO codes, it is highly unlikely that it would be included in any SMP.
Therefore to be on safer side, reassessment is the good option

Confused 2231-79 applicants with successful skill assessment as at 1st July 2010
Hi Guys,
Please share your thoughts on what our destiny would be!
My skill category was granted on 9th June and in the letter it goes as 2231-79 (J2EE Specialist)
DIAC website has a new list, mapping existing SOL codes with new codes
http://www.immi.gov.au/employers/_pd...rrelations.pdf
In the above list under schedule3 my ASCO code 2231-79, J2EE Specialist is not mapped with a new ANZSCO code. How they will address the existing ASCO code 2231-79 in future?
