First Post - Hi, new to all this and can't find the answer I am looking for. My plan is to apply for state sponsorship(176), if/when I receive a state sponsorship do I then have to apply for the visa or is the state sponsorship the actual visa I am after? If not, can the 2 be done at the same time (i.e. application for state sponsorship and application for PR visa??). I am currently waiting for my skills assessment OK from TRA. Any help is great help.

Mate you need state sponsorship first to be able to apply for a state sponsored visa that is 176,if you want to apply right away you can apply for a 175 independant visa which doesn't require sponsorship then whilst you wait for your sponsorship to come through and when it does come you can convert 175 to 176 which normally was being processed faster,hope this is clear.STATE SPONSORSHIP IS NOT A VISA...
