Re: Oh nooo... Referred to Medical Assessor!
Hi Flowerpot,
I don't think you should be worrying about the raised levels of ALT as Angela and I had similar problems. Angela had the tests and they came back at about 3 times the normal limits and was referred to MA. After more blood tests it transpired that she suffered from fatty liver and as all of the other tests were negative so she was passed as fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She received her clearance to travel but because we were applying under the skilled migrant category I was then referred due to my having had a heart attack in 2004.
After further tests by the cardiologist who said I was as healthy as him, INZ then asked for further exercise tolerance tests which were done and passed within 2 days and resubmitted. INZ accepted the results immediately and issued us with residence visas within 2 days.
We left the uk on the 25th september and are now in Ngaio just outside of Wellington. Weather is absolutely sh*t but who cares we are here.
We had everything against us, having started the EOI in March 2008 - I lost 2 jobs through INZ delays, my age (54) and all the extra medicals. I can only say that if you persevere it will all come good in the end but it is worth it.

Well everywhere you have all said sounds great!
We have visited north island twice and my parents emigrated to Orewa just outside Auckland 3 yrs ago so we want to settle around that area.
We fell in love with Gulf Harbour and Army Bay end, really beautiful... lots of beaches and golf for the hubby! Plus can get the ferry to Auckland from Gulf Harbour which will save a car commute as I am hoping to find work with one fo the large pharma companies in the city.
Fingers crossed for us all! x

The hubby has had a scan and been told its not fatty liver so a little different but hopefully nothing serious... I personally think its the exercise he does but hey I'm no doc!!!
Glad you made it over in the end, my folks say the weather is glorious in Orewa so you want to travel a bit north!
We will deffo perservere but it is frustrating how logn everything takes! I have no doubt it will all be worth it when we are strolling along a beach taking in the beautiful scenery... UK only a distant memory!
Thanks again
And thanks also Kija for your lovely comments

Our case officer left INZ on Fri too so we have a new one now, bit gutted as got to know the old one a bit and so have to try and work up a bit of a relationship with the new one so our telephone interview (if we get it ) goes well!
Best of luck to us all eh!

MA has asked for letter from GP stating prognosis of mild liver function abnormalities... going to sort this next week
Doc has already said nowt to worry about and that some people have fluctuating levels so we are hoping this will be enough to close out the MA referral so we can move forward
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar I WANT THIS TO BE OVER!!!
