Unhappy Have our hopes been dashed??

Well after waiting for what has seemed an eternity, my husband received a phone call from the doctor to let us know there was a problem with his bloodtests.

He has a low white cell count and a problem with his liver function can't remember all the details, been in a daze since then. We are going up tomorrow for more info although Doc said it could be a viral infection (I hope so).

Has anybody else had this?? Just to try and offer him some words of comfort - don't think were going to get much sleep tonight

Hi samsuth,

Can't offer any advice I'm afraid but wanted to send you some positive energy, I can imagine how you feel

White cells are the ones that help us fight infections, so like the doctor said it could be that his body has been fighting a few recently and hence his cell count would be low.... has he had a cold or similar? I have heard that taking echinacea tablets helps the immune system, perhaps by giving it a little boost his cell count would soon return to normal, ask the doctor about it, although some professionals are not advocates of herbal and alternative medicines...

Best of luck tomorrow, hope the doctor can give you some good news.
