oh and by the way... does the CHC send you an email before they post the letter of approval, or does it just magically appear in your mailbox?

All through emails including the letter of approval. No medical is required for me. We got PNP support letter instead of LMO. Yes, that was extra time. It took 6 weeks during the Christmas period.
