Two questions on the final section of my application.

The Updated Information Chart has to be completed by me (principal applicant) and anyone else accompanying me to Canada. I already live in Canada with my common law partner should I assume I put her name down on the form?

Passport Requirements - as a UK citizen we only need to send a SCAN of our passport not the actual document. We can send either to London, UK or CPC-O? I will be going on holiday to the UK in the middle of March can I still send to CPC-O as it states if you plan to be in Canada for at least three months you may submit your passport copy....

Hi Guys,

Has anyone ever experienced delays on the Sponsor being approved? The timeline suggests 84 days and we have surpassed this now (120+ days). That said my Sponsor only received her email from CIC 10 days ago saying, we have received you application on 21st October.

Has anyone known Sponsors not being approved and if so on what grounds?
As ever, any insight is much appreciated

Read the sticky thread SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP FAQ on the main forum page. It answers your questions and you can also research what to expect next, puts alot of your mind at rest too
Bonus knowing they at least received your app! There is contact information at the bottom of that thread also where you can ask CIC about your app now that you are over the listed processing time.

Generally, sponsors are only rejected if thye are found ineligible to sponsor. Usually that's because they are either on welfare, or they have a previous undertaking which has not yet lapsed. If the sponsor does not have either of these, then something's up.

Have you tried sending CIC an email to see what's going on? You should have heard by now.

Yes, we emailed CIC two days ago. My Sponsor has none of the disqualifying factors. The only potential issue is that they are currently undertaking a Masters. That said, in Quebec where we are applying the Sponsor is not means tested so to speak. Thus on our the application we didn't even have to include the financial aspects. Thus even if she was earning below the level required for sponsorship we didn't have to supply that evidence. As it stands though we are actually very comfortable financially.

There's no financial requirement for family class. It sounds like either your application is lost somewhere, OR it has been accidentally filed as inland. So you need to chase them up. cbrown on this thread just a few pages back found his application had been filed inland accidentally. He had to stay on top of CIC to sort it, but he did get it sorted in the end.
