re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland
Hi Everyone
I hope someone can help... The CIC ECAS system is confusing me.
I received a letter from Mississauga about 21 August to say that my sponsorship has been approved and that the PR Application for my Common Law Partner has been sent to London. I could finally log onto ECAS about 2 weeks later using my name and the Unique Client identification number off the letter from Mississauga. I have not be able to access using the Receipt number or under my partner's name using either the receipt # of the UCI.
ECAS has only ever said that the sponsorship is approved and that my partner's application has been received on the original date that it arrived in Mississauga (21 June). It does not say that the application has been sent to or arrived in London. From other member's timelines, I then expect it to mention the medicals, which were sent mid June.
So, am I being impatient - should ECAS be showing that the application has arrived in London ? Should I worry ?
I know that we still have another 6 weeks or so to wait before I can expect the PR approval (2 months in London seems about normal). However, I am not sure when ECAS has been updated for other folks.
Feedback from anyone who has already been through this would be great.
Thanks

Not easy waiting, but don't get concerned yet because ECAS is not updated

The CIC system told us that a "Decision Made' which is our case was a successful application. We got sent a letter which left CIC on 1st September and arrived in the UK 9th Sept, so expect about 8 days for it to get to you.
I entered under Dual Intent at the weekend no problems. Thanks to everyone for your help and advice!

ECAS is very hit and miss. You need to assume that if it is all in order it will be waiting for someone in London to pick it up - some get updated quickly - and some extremely slowly. It is just so frustrating because you want news throughout the process - but keep thinking that if they are busy working on the applications, they may be too busy to update. Mine was approved in Mississauga in November and London only started processing it on 24th Feb.....

I know, I just need to be patient
Just one more question, should I be able to find all the updates on the PR application on my (sponsor's) ECAS login ? I cannot seem to log onto ECAS using my partner's name using either the receipt number (starting with R) or my UCI.
thanks again

Hi Everyone,
I've not been on this forum for a while, trying to keep my mind off the waiting! But here's an update for anyone who cares/remembers!
I finally got in touch with the CIC mid July regarding my application. Found out they were waiting for more medical results, they'd sent a letter out mid June, in the middle of the mail strike.
It took until mid August for them to reply to my notification that I hadn't received that letter, and for them to email me telling me what they wanted. I managed to contact the Ottawa medical office (by calling an unofficially advertised number - got admonished for that!), and they suggested I had my specialist send a copy of all my medical records, and check with them a few weeks later to make sure they got it.
So I did that, sent them a fax (has to be a fax!) requesting they'd got it. I got a reply saying they'd finalized all my medicals on June 6th! I replied confused, and got a nice but depressing apologetic email explaining how they have 3 different systems in place there for the process, and they'd forgotten to update the one the London office checks. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :curse:
So now they've updated it and things can progress I hope. I really hope no-one else has these kind of troubles. I'm hoping to hear from them before Christmas now. The slow slide of expectations!

re: Timeline For Spousal Sponsorship via London & Inland
Hello - ok - I've been reading the conversations on here and they are so helpful! I think I know the answer ..... "we don't know" .... but thought it was worth asking anyway.
I am a Canadian - born in Canada - but I've been living with my British husband in England for 3 years and we have a 5 month old son. We have submitted our application to Mississauga and have had a response back this week saying that I've been approved at a sponsor.
We can see from the web site that it takes 8 months to proccess the application in London, but we know that we're going to have to move out of where we are currently living because the owners are selling the house and we have to be out by January 1. We are really stuck as to know if we should look for another place to rent or just take the gamble that the application might be approved by December so we could just move back to Canada .... that would certainly be easier than moving into rented and having to stay out a 6 month contract.
Anyway, like I said, I'm sure the answer is ... there is no way to know .... but figured it never hurt to ask.
Thanks!

Re: the questions about ECAS updates. They have been really slow at updating their system for our file. ie: On July 21st they updated our file to say that they had received it in london on July 11th... On Sept. 2 they updated our file to say they had started processing it in London on July 27th.
We are hoping that the PPR will come through soon, but like someone else mentioned, I've stopped logging in to the ECAS site as often because the lack of transparency, inconsistency and inability to get in contact with them just infuriates me. I'm considering doing a youtube video about the process... Maybe along the lines of the United Breaks Guitars - Dave Carroll video.
On a more positive note: Great news "davidKenley". I'm so happy for you!
"annibg" make sure you apply for your child's proof of citizenship card before you leave the country. It takes almost as long as the immigration process.
