You are very welcome, glad to be able to help.
I'm attaching snapshots of the forms you need to fill out - don't forget the Western Europe forms if your wife is from the UK. If she is from elsewhere, then scroll down on the webpage below to find which one you need.

Hi again - just had one of those moments when you read something and think "am I missing something??" ... when we downloaded that packet there were no "forms" per se other than if you were from Albania - it is basically a big ol' document checklist for the sponsored person ... is that right or have I not done something properly?? <small panic but not too big as we haven't submitted yet>

Re: Spousal Sponsorship
Good question - I had/have similar niggles.
I am Cdn by naturalisation, sponsoring my husband. My daughter is Cdn by birth (albeit born overseas - also waiting on certificate) so I didn't include her in question 5 as technically I'm not sponsoring her - so I only put 1 in question 5 for current undertakings, then 2 in question 7 but then listed her in the dependants section.
Hoping that's the right way.

1. By birth in Canada
2. By naturalization
3. By descent
4. By adoption (direct grant of citizenship - although by naturalization is also an option here)
You became a Canadian citizen by naturalization. Your daughter became a Canadian citizen by descent (through you). You could say she became Canadian by descent *at* birth but she is not Canadian *by* birth.

Re: Spousal Sponsorship
A nitpick on terms. Canadian "by birth" means being born in Canada. There are 4 main ways to become a Canadian citizen:
1. By birth in Canada
2. By naturalization
3. By descent
4. By adoption (direct grant of citizenship - although by naturalization is also an option here)
