Re: Manitoba - Strategic Initiative
Folks, I have a unique issue and your guidance would be helpful. While going through the MPNP online application process as well as the CIC application process, I noticed that they require Birth Certificates that list the complete names of the child and both parents.
Now the problem is that none of our birth certificates carry our own names. Usually in our part of the world the name of the child is kept some days after he/she is born.
I wanted to know if someone has faced a similar issue and how this can be resolved.
@Lovely_Clouds: Your inputs would be really helpful, in case you faced this problem.

Hello e4ma,
Thank you and welcome to the forum.
In most cases for us here yes. But, during the EV you have to also demonstrate your willingness to stay & adapt in MB.
We did contact the employers; and had 4 real interviews with companies and as many over the coffee discussions.
I did a post on TRV application in this thread itself around March mid. Probably you can check that post. I am sorry, I may not be able to recall and detail everything again. Main documents were :-
(a) EV invitation letter.
(b) about EV program (website pages)
(c) cover letter
(d) flight itinerary and hotel itinerary.
(e) current employment letter; and leave approval letter for current employment
(f) financial proof that we have funds to survive for the trip.
I hope i didnt miss anything. Still, will recommend you to go back the thread posts history. You will find more detailed info there.
Cheers.

Congrats Brian and good luck of the rest of process..
How much time it took you to get the TRV??
Hi Lovely_Clouds,
Is screen print for listings from Job Bank is enough? I found al least 35 openings from the last month that i could fit in which in the Manitoba area.
Currently, i am waiting for the EV invitation, my head starts to bump and i sleep with the phone open on the email page. checking it before sleep and after awake.

as new_start rightly said, during the EV interview, you need to show the visiting cards of people you met for employment during the EV.
For us, the job listing was useful only initially to get the EV invitation. However, I will request an accurate reply on this from @manitobian.
@manitobian : how are you? missing you here at the forum

We didnt even have our birth certificate; as it was never a botheration for our folks during that era.
We raised this question during our EV. As per the feedback from immigration officers, we can submit our passport copy and 10th CBSE certificate, along with a letter stating the exception of Birth Certificate for India.
Hope that helps.

The notary here made a birth certificate based on the documents. So maybe you can either provide document to prove that you changed name, or make a new birth certificate, and explain it through email?
Passport and 10th certificate are the valid proof of DOB all over our country.

Hey all of you,
sorry I haven't been on here much the last few days, I have been into meetings every evening this week (and tonight won't be any exception).
forourfuture: feel free to send me a PM and I can look through your draft of letter to PNP. I am glad you like Rossburn and it would be cool if you could set up a similar shop here, but you are right, you won't be able to immigrate on that. So your wife being the main applicant is the right way to go.
jobbank ads might be good to show initial employability, but while here you will have to do more than that. Contact employers beforehand, tell them that you will be in the country from x to y and if you could present yourself at that time. Tell them that you are planing to apply through the PNP and that the employer would not need to get an LMO for you. Make them aware though too, that you wouldn't be able to start tomorrow either..as the process does take some time.
If you don't get a potential employer to respond initially, either just try to give them a call when here and/or talk to EDO's and settlement services (in smaller towns..Brandon and Wpg won't be as easy) to help you find potential employers.
Sorry, should I have overlooked some question, ask them again and I hope to have more time on the weekend to answer them.
Have a great day! Ilse

Hi All,
I send them a follow up email 5 days ago, stating that i am interest to keep my tentative plans which i mentioned before. They gave me the following reply yesterday.
"Dear Mostafa Sherif: Your email has been forwarded to the officer in charge for MPNP Exploratory Visit. "
Anyone familiar with such reply??
Hey Manitobian,
Can i forward you my sent email to study my case and give me your feedback.
Thank you all for support.

Hi ra_XOr, I believe you will get a feedback soon to confirm your visit or provide you with a convenient date which is okay to the MPNP officer. I did send them an email reminder too when it was taking a while to get a confirmation for a visit and was fortunate to get a reply that same day confirming my visit. I believe of late the MPNP has been receiving tonnes of requests/applications not only from exploratory visit (strategic initiative stream) but from other streams and that might have slowed down the time it takes to get EV confirmed.

Hi Dammy,
Thank you for your positive feedback. :-)
Regarding the email address issues, i noticed that they separatd the EV stream to a specific email. instead of [email protected] they use [email protected].
That happened exactly after i sent my request email with 2 weeks.

@Dammy: You are right, they could do something to speed the process of letting ppl know about nomination up through email announcement.
One thing I can see is that you need that snail mail original to apply for the PR, so that is really the only reason I can see them holding back (as I am sure we would see some "specialists" sending an email copy instead). Of course if you would know it would be coming, at least you could start asking for police certificates etc.
I will suggest it at the next occasion, one never knows...
I really don't know the reasoning behind it, but as you said, once can argue ..if CIC can do it, they should be able to do as well.
@raXor: it should be good news, if nothing else you should hear directly from an officer how far your case is...and usually they try to accomodate specific travel requirements.
to all: Have a great weekend!
