Got a question.
Obviously I'm already over here with a work permit and have been through immigration already. I'm going back to the UK in August to for a week to get married and then my wife and little boy will be coming back with me. Will I need to go back through immigration with them 2 or not?

Simplest thing to do is fill out 2 x declaration cards one for you with your Canadian address and one for them with their UK address. Stay together and then all of you go to a CBSA officer at the gold fish cubicle at which ever airport you clear at and hand over your passports and 2 declaration cards and take it from there.

Fingers crossed for you that no Canadians apply that can do the job - and no, you can't go round and convince them to withdraw their app if they do.

Good luck.

Yes they have had the job on Indeed also other places for over a month to make sure nobody applies. Even if someone does they need more than one stylist in the 13 Salons in Calgary. Fingers, toes and all things crossed.
The company is using a specialist to assist them in this process.

Hi, The new update came to my attention regarding an advert for LMIA:
The advertisement must be posted for a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks starting from the first day the ad appears and is accessible to the general public.
The advertisement must be posted during the 3 months prior to the employer applying for an LMIA.
The advertisement must remain posted to actively seek qualified Canadians and permanent residents until the date a positive or negative LMIA is issued.
This is a new thing? Is this valid from April 30, 2015 when the new LMIA form is introduced or from now? So as I understand it is only after 3 months after an advert is placed, the employer can submit an application for LMIA????
My husband is still waiting for an advert to be placed
and it is not good if we need to wait 3 months now (and not 4 weeks) to be able to apply

Hi Kiki1,
No its not a new rule its the same rule I think your just miss reading it.
Minimum requirement is for 4 weeks and must run until a positive or negative answer is given.
The advertisement must be posted during the 3 months prior to the application not for the 3 months. I think its to stop an employer putting in an application for a LMIA when the advert was placed for 4 weeks 6 months ago.
That is the way I am reading the wording. My employer is in 2 week of advertising and is applying for my lmia after 4 weeks of advertising.
If im wrong please someone correct me.

I have an irish pasport so i applied for a working holiday visa to canada with the CIC for 2 years ( 35 so i just made the age ) This should i think give me an open work visa for Canada . In the uk I am a long haul truck driver with of 8 years experiance . with my open work visa do i need a LIMO to apply for a trucking or even and ordinary job such as barman etc or can i just apply to any job i see on a job site .
My goal is to get permany resedency in canada for me and the wife and would deffinatly considder the Tempory forign workers program is any provance i have looked at the saskatoon area . I just though my working holiday visa might be a way arounf getting a LIMA .
Any input would be greatly accepted .

Hi
1. With an IEC open work permit you can work in any job that you wish, as long as it doesn't involve children or health care. You require a medical for that. You don't require a LMIA. Obtaining PR through an unskilled or semi skilled job, will probably not lead to Permanent Residence. Long Distance trucking may, depending on the province.

Hi,
I have a question- do you know anybody who got LMIA as "fast track" in 10 days? Some of the trades qualify for a 10 day processing but is this just in theory and it still would take 2-3 months?

PMM, I know this. It is on list as High demand occupation and is above medium wage for the province and according to the list qualifies as 10 day service as standard. What I am asking is that does anyone actually received in 10 days or this is just a theory?
