Hi Ly1,

Yes, I got my student visa after applying for my PR (applied for PR in Apirl 2001 and student permit got in August 2001). I am doing Master's in Mining Engineering.

At least my spouse and me got student visas, while our PR VISA is in pending.

Hope this helps

Damodar

Hi damodar,

Did you get your student's visa after you applied for the PR or before.

I have my application pending since Oct 2001 and I want to do further studies in Canada as i have my folks there, but i heard a student's visa is difficult when you have already applied for PR.

Is it true. Please let me know. Also what kind of studies are you doing there.Pls reply.

Dear Damodar

First of all, I would like to congratulate you. For last six months,
I was following up your posts. I cannot help but sympathize your
despair, since we are essentially in the same boat.. Your long wait
finally paid off.

Though I really do not wish to spoil your mood, do you honestly
believe that you can submit police clearance from RCMP within 60 days?
Of course, you should submit the finger printform and pray (again!)
that you'll receive it within the specified time limit, but the
current waiting time (150 days) seems to be very discouraging. I
wonder what other people in similar situation cope with this issue.

I wish only the best for your remaining step.

Best wishes,

George C.
