No you won't need a medical and those staying for more than 6 months if living in the UK don't need one as the UK isn't a designated country for this category. You only need health insurance including repatriation coverage when you arrive at a port of entry not during the application. You will need the eTA.

Ok great. So far as I can tell, then, I have nothing pressing in the to-do list, other than the family information form, which I am doing now. Right?

hello my nephew wants to apply for this in 2020, I cannot see "opening dates" , is it typically January again ?
