Re: IEC 2015
Just received an email from CIC saying that there have been no updates on my application. What a useless email!
A lot of people seem to be getting theirs exactly a month after submitting, which would be today for me (submitted April 1st) so I'm still gonna hold some hope for the day

UPDATE: ive just got my POE!!!!!! It has taken 5 weeks.
Just checking but its valid for entry up to next year (expiry is 06.04.2016 - is that correct that even with a 2 year visa you only have one year to activate?

Re: IEC 2015
It looks like overflow just opened! I just got an e-mail inviting me to pay fees and submit documents, I was 5179 for reference.
Looks like IEC just did a bunch of applications.
Edit: Is anyone else unable to download Kompass PDFs right now?

Hi
1. Yes, the LOI is only valid for 1 year.
When it gets to 6 weeks I would email them and ask them if they have approved your application as that is meant to be how long it should take.
I'm doing that next week

Re: IEC 2015
(I'm probably going to be going home for a while before deciding if I'm coming back out on second IEC, so rather benefiting from the long processing times & hoping that isn't getting snatched away by letter dating)

Re: IEC 2015
Hmm - on the one hand, IEC LOIs are always valid for one year, so that's no surprise - but the date is a bit odd? Depending on format (I've given up guessing which one people in Canada are using) it's either it's 6th April 2016 (in which case you've lost 4 weeks validity), or 4th June 2016 (in which case they've given you a bit over a year). Wonder if they completed your file a few weeks back but only just let you know?
It doesn't really matter though as Im activating it in September this year. Was just a random question.

Re: IEC 2015
Hi,
So, I'm currently in Toronto on a working holiday through IEC. My work permit expires May 14th.
After the late opening for IEC this year, I got my CAL in March and then submitted my completed application on MyCIC on April 12th. It is still in processing, I have no idea when it'll be done but I think it's taking longer than last year (3 weeks so far).
My plan had been this:
However, now I sit without my PoE and my work permit expiring May 14th, so I'm wondering the following main question:
Can I leave Toronto while my CIC application is processing, then hopefully the processing will be done while I'm in the UK, then I can print off my PoE and re-enter? Or, will leaving while it's processing cause a problem somehow?
I actually want to leave this week if possible, but now I'm concerned that doing so would invalidate my application somehow.
If I can't, what's my alternative? Is it exending my stay via visitor status? But I'm within the 30 days, so can I even do that?

My plan had been this:
- Receive my PoE.
- Leave Canada at the end of my permit and return home to Scotland for a 2-3 week visit.
- Re-enter Canada with all documents, start my next working holiday.

HI
1,
1, You are fine to leave, there is nothing in IEC that requires you to remain in Canada. Each IEC is a separate applicaiton.

Thanks. I had the same reply elsewhere. The reason I was concerned was because my country of application is Canada as I was here while applying. I had a feeling I was being overly paranoid though.

Uploaded CV and Passport
Made payment.
Gona order police check asap
The PDF downloads into your "download" folder, open that for the local hardcopy of any downloaded pdf
(Don't click the link that appears when you download...that opens a web PDF viewer, which sucks...)
Also, make sure your adobe is up to date

Re: IEC 2015
I submitted my round 2 app on Friday and already had 2 ghost emails, and in his 5 weeks he's only had 2 ghost emails. Wonder if that means anything...
