Hi
Nope, when you submit your application to the processing office, and you enclose written proof of your language ability, if it is not acceptable to prove your ability, there is no second chance. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resourc...2010/ob166.asp
But assuming that English is the mother tongue of your country, all your studies were done in English, and the language of work is English, then the statement is sufficient.

Hm. So still two differing opinions
I think the problem is that no-where else in the forms does it ask you to submit proof - only in relation to this question on Schedule 3.
So it is clear that no other category needs proof at this stage, but no clear for this.
If it will do no harm to send it in with the app to Sydney, then we will do so.
I can't be the only one filling in Schedule 3 right now - what's everyone else doing, who's filling this in now?

However, looking at PMMs link there appears to be a change in applications received in that you will need to provide a statement.
I'm really not all that sure to be honest. It seems that I could have made a mistake and Id suggest it may be best to provide a statement of your education, background, etc to support your english ability.
I suspect that the forms and guidelines may be changed from April 10.
I'll be mighty f****d off if Ive made a mistake!

I filled our forms out 8 days ago and they should arrive today judging by the tracker. I didnt provide evidence of language proficiency or a statement as the guidelines and documents listings didnt note that I was to provide it.

Good luck - at least you are pre-April 10, so should be ok.

Re: Enclosures - FSW1 to Sydney
I just sent my application off this morning and previously asked on this forum if I needed to send proof of language at this stage http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=661104 - I was told no you supply it at the 120 letter stage?
I have sent my forms via DHL who say they will take about 1-4 days to get there, I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they will get there by Friday then I will be before the 10th of April deadline. Not sure what will happen if they get it after? I can certainly submit proof if I see they never received it until the 10th - who knows what will happen??
I was feeling quite relieved that my forms were all completed and double double checked and that the instructions said that you do not submit any supporting documents at the stage- I only printed off the forms a week ago so nothing seemed to be updated on them with regards to this - booooooooooooooooooo
Like I said fingers and toes crossed.
I suppose I can only hope they do not send my application back and then for me to re-submit it??

Hi
If you followed the checklist http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kit...s/IMM5612E.PDF (which it appears that some don't) you will be fine.
